The ��Ӱֱ�� State College athletic program had strong showings in both the Region III Director's Cup and the NATYCAA (National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators).  The Pioneers finished 3rd in the Directors Cup and 7th in the scholarship division of the NATYCAA Cup.

��Ӱֱ�� State College standout volleyball player Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) has been named the Western New York Athletic Conference co-senior female athlete of the year.  She shares the honor with Lindsay Grace (Monroe CC) and Kari Barmore (Jamestown CC).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College athletic department has published the 2009 fall athletic schedules.  Athletes will begin reporting to campus in the middle of August with games beginning the last weekend of August.

��Ӱֱ�� State College men’s soccer and lacrosse coach Todd Weil has resigned from his position in the athletic department.  Weil has spent the past four seasons at the helm of the lacrosse program and the last three seasons guiding the men’s soccer team.

��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC), seven partners including six NYS community colleges, and the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC) - Empire State Chapter - have formed SUNYGREENSNY. This initiative grew out of the efforts and recommendations of NYS Gov. David Paterson's Renewable Energy Task Force. As a result, SUNYGREENSNY has been awarded a $2M grant from NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority) to develop clean energy technology training across the state.

Students
wishing to acquire a certificate in court reporting and captioning need look no
further than ��Ӱֱ�� State College.  The State University of New York
(SUNY) and the State Education Department have approved a certificate in court reporting and captioning (CERT) to begin admitting students in fall 2009.

The human services management (BS) program.

The Educational Foundation of ��Ӱֱ��, Inc., annually funds up to eight ��Ӱֱ�� State College students through its work-grant program, allowing students who are ineligible for work-study funds to find employment on campus.  The grant is renewable on an annual basis.

During the 2009 spring semester, members of Civic Engagement and Activism Headquarters (CEAH) at ��Ӱֱ�� State College hosted the first "Fight the Yawn Up ‘til Dawn" program in support of St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital. CEAH members were excited and happy to work with a national campaign supporting cancer research.

Dr. Earl Packard, assistant professor and chair, Mathematics and Physics Department at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, was selected, for the third consecutive year, to participate in the annual  reading and scoring of the College Board's AP Examinations this June in calculus.
