÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State Raises Over $7M, Surpasses Fundraising Goal by Wide Margin

One of the largest capital campaigns ever at a SUNY College of Technology, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College has announced that it has exceeded its $3.4M Centennial Campaign goal by over 100%. At campaign’s end, the College had raised cash and pledges of over $7.5M. The three-year campaign, timed to coincide with the College’s hundredth birthday in 2008, concluded on June 30, 2009, with a preliminary total of $7,564,472 raised.

Diners Nosh at 3 of Top 10 Restaurant Chains in the Country

College students from earlier times may recall a one-size fits all college dining experience that included little flavor and long cafeteria lines.  ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College students can’t relate.  That’s because ASC student meal plans include dining options at three of the top 10 restaurant chains in the country, based on a recent survey of the top 400 chain establishments published by magazine in the July 2009 issue.

SkillsUSA 2009 participantsTwelve NYS SkillsUSA winners (who competed at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College in the spring) competed at the 2009 SkillsUSA Postsecondary Nationals in Kansas City, MO, June 22-27, 2009.  Of the 12, nine were ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College (ASC) students, two were SUNY Delhi students, and one was a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student.

Student Laundry Goes Green

Laundry, the bane of college existence, will be become more environmentally-friendly, if not more enjoyable, at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College this fall. The largest laundry room on campus in the MacKenzie Complex has been completely updated and the results will fit in nicely with the college’s green initiative.

Pioneers Earn Academic Honors

Twenty ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College student athletes have been honored with academic awards.  Eleven Pioneers were named NJCAA Academic All-American, 13 were named Academic All-Region, and 20 were named Academic All Conference.
