The ��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball season came to an end at the Region III Division III Tournament on Saturday.  The Lady Pioneers fell 2-1 in all three matches of pool play to end their 2010 season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's cross country team finished 2nd out of nine teams at the Region III Championships while the women were 4th out of eight.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College football team dug themselves into too big a hole and fell 27-14 to Dean College.  The Pioneers are now 4-4 on the year while the Bulldogs are 6-3.

Seven members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's soccer team have been named All-WNYAC following the Lady Pioneers 11-5 season.  ASC finshed 2nd in the WNYAC standings with a 4-1 mark.

Members of the University Faculty Senate throughout New York State convened recently at ��Ӱֱ�� State College for the group’s 156^th Plenary meeting. Defined by the SUNY (State University of New York) Policies of the Board of Trustees, University Faculty Senate is "the official agency through which the University Faculty engages in the governance of the University."

Come spend an average day with the “Peanuts” gang, as the ASC drama club presents “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!” in the Orvis Auditorium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. Cost of admission to the play, which is appropriate for all ages, is $2 for ASC students and $5 for community members.

Carla Coch, ��Ӱֱ�� Station, has been appointed by the NYS Governor’s Office to the ��Ӱֱ�� State College Council.

Jane Gilliland, senior director, Student Records and Financial Services at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, was recently awarded the Rising Star Service Award for Region 1 at the New York State Financial Aid Administrator’s Association (NYSFAAA) conference.

The Board of Directors of the Educational Foundation of ��Ӱֱ��, Inc., has announced its slate of officers for 2010-11.

Three ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's soccer players have earned All-WNYAC honors.  Lucas Wales (Bath) was named 1st team while Michael Gee (Arkport) and Derek Southworth (Fulton/G.Ray Bodley) were 2nd team selections.

The Communications Office of ��Ӱֱ�� State College has recently been notified that its admissions promotional marketing materials captured a coveted Platinum Award in the recent MarCom award competition. Additionally, the ��Ӱֱ�� State College Web site/home page garnered an honorable mention.

Theresa Guardiano scored with 2:34 remaining in the second overtime to lift #5 Mohawk Valley CC over #4 ��Ӱֱ�� State 3-2 in a Region III Division III A Semfinal.  MVCC advances to the Finals on Saturday.

Today's Region III Division III A Semifinal contest between #4 ��Ӱֱ�� State and #5 Mohawk Valley CC has been pushed up half a hour and now is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.  The time change will hopefully allow for the game to be completed before projected thunderstorms hit the area this evening.

The Hinkle Memorial Library Gallery will mount an exhibit -- “Gen/reVision” (two generations of art) -- by Craig Prophet and his son Cameron, both of ��Ӱֱ��.

The exhibit, consisting of paintings and photography, will open Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, and run through the end of the fall semester, Dec. 15. There will be an opening reception Oct. 29 from 2-4 p.m.

Human services management students at ��Ӱֱ�� State College recently conducted the first meeting of S.O.S. (Student Organization for Service). The meeting was organized by BS in human services management students, but is open to any ASC student.

A panel of local business and education leaders presented their ideas on how education and business can work together to increase the number of business start-ups in New York State, and what role, in particular, SUNY (State University of New York) can play in that plan.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore volleyball players Brittany Haines (Salamanca) and Kelley Dumbleton (Warsaw) were named 1st team All-WNYAC this weekend while freshman Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) was a 2nd team selection.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball team has earned the #2 seed in this week's Region III Division III Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers have earned a bye in the first round and will move to pool play at Corning CC on Saturday.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's soccer team will host Mohawk Valley CC in the Region III Division III Tournament Semifinals on Tuesday.  The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start at Pioneer Stadium.

Lackawanna College scored 36 unanswered points to erase a early 3-0 deficit en route to a 36-17 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State in a NFC contest on Saturday.  The Falcons are now 6-2 (3-2 NFC) while the Pioneers are 4-3 (1-3).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball team fell 22-25, 23-25, 25-23, 19-25 to Monroe CC in the WNYAC Tournament Semifinals on Saturday afternoon.  ASC heads into the Region III Division III Tournament with a 24-9 overall mark.

Nick Wooderk, Allegany, an automotive service technician freshman, and Mathew Mercadante, Delhi, an automotive parts technology freshman were the honored recipients.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore baseball players JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Tyler Mann (Holland Patent) have been named All-WNYAC following the Pioneers fall season.  ASC finished the fall campaign with a 4-11 overall record and a 3-10 WNYAC mark.

Saturday's ��Ӱֱ�� State College football game at Lackawanna College has been pushed back a hour and now is scheduled for a 2 p.m.  The Pioneers (4-2) and Falcons (5-2) will play at Valley View Stadium in Peckville, PA.

��Ӱֱ�� State College and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), a non-academic honor society consisting of the top 1% of student leaders, announces the winners of September’s “Of The Month” (OTM) Awards:

ABET’s (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) Academic Advisory Council provides a formal means for the academic community to share its perspective, give advice, and communicate with the ABET leadership in such areas as accreditation; issues related to applied science, computing, engineering, and technology education; and feedback on proposed programs, procedures and policies relating to higher education.

��Ӱֱ�� State College will host “Dr. Z,” aka Dr. Stephen Zawistowski, PhD, CAAB (certified applied animal behaviorist) executive vice president, nation programs science adviser to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, NYC, who will speak on “Companion Animals in Society,” Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, 7 p.m., at the College’s Lake Lodge, Terbury Road, ��Ӱֱ��. His presentation is open to the public free of charge. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for local animal shelters.
