The newly retooled car can travel 50 miles per charge, dependent on terrain and driving habits; can reach a top speed of 81 mph; can achieve 0-60 mph in 28 seconds. The car can be charged in four hours to charge on 220Volts, and eight hours on 115Volts.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore safety Sir Aaron Taylor (Westchester/Lincoln Hall) and freshman punter Colter Johnson (Warren, PA) have been named to the NJCAA All-American team.  This is the third time in Coach Mick Caba’s tenure that two players have been named All-American in the same year.

��Ӱֱ�� State College alumni continue to use their education, both for work, for fun, and for charity. Recently, several ASC grads competed in the CANstruction design and build competition, held in Rochester. CANstruction is an international charity created by the Society for Design Administration.

Santa’s helpers at ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s School of Applied Technology in Wellsville have been very busy.  A campus campaign for Toys for Tots raised $1,800+ to make local children’s lives a little merrier this season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s WINS Club (Women in Non-traditional Studies--though membership is open to all students) recently conducted a fall fund raiser to donate $122 for perishable items to the ��Ӱֱ�� Station Food Pantry.

Called the Red Watch Band, its mission is to provide campus community members with the knowledge, awareness, and skills to prevent student toxic drinking deaths and to promote a student culture of kindness, responsibility, compassion, and respect.

“Three of the units will be added to the ��Ӱֱ�� campus, while two others will be placed on the Wellsville campus,” said Greg Sammons, Chief of Police and coordinator of the grant application. “Once in place, the four sirens on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus and two on the Wellsville campus will significantly enhance the volume of the sirens for people walking anywhere between buildings and in many cases, will penetrate the buildings and reach indoor classrooms and offices quite well.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team went 1-2 at the ASC Duals on Saturday to close out the 2010 portion of their schedule.  The Pioneers are now 2-6 in dual matches on the year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team closed out the 2010 portion of their schedule with a 95-35 win over Houghton JV.  The Lady Pioneers will head into 2011 with a 10-4 mark.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College swimming team wrapped up the 2010 portion of their season with a WNYAC dual at Monroe CC.  The Pioneer men fell 115-83 while the women fell 99-53 to the Region III power.

Josh Griffin (Englewood, NJ) followed up a missed lay-up with 0.8 seconds remaining to lift the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team to a 68-67 victory over CC of Beaver County on Tuesday evening.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team will open up the home portion of their season on Saturday when they host the ASC Duals.  The team competition will have each team wrestle three times during the day.

Five students at ��Ӱֱ�� State College were recently inducted as charter members into the ASC Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, a national mathematics honor society for high schools and two-year colleges.  They were presented with certificates and membership cards during the induction ceremony.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team spent the weekend competing at Niagara CCC.  On Friday, the Pioneers lost a close dual meet with Penn State DuBois 25-22 and then had four wrestlers finish in the top five of the Niagara Open on Saturday.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College swimming team had a solid outing at the SUNY Delhi Invitational. The men finished 3rd out of 13 teams while the women were 7th out of 14 teams.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team battled tough but fell 88-73 on the road at Lakeland (OH) CC.  The blue & gold are now 2-9 on the year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team gave Lakeland CC all they could handle in a 59-56 loss on Saturday.  The loss snaps the Lady Pioneers four game winning streak and drops the team to 9-4 on the year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team used a late 2nd half run to down Cuyahoga CC 53-47.  ASC has now won four in a row and are 9-3 on the season.

Sections of the internationally celebrated AIDS Memorial Quilt – the 54-ton, handmade tapestry that stands as a memorial to more than 92,000 individuals lost to AIDS – were recently on view at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, as part of World AIDS Day – Dec. 1, 2010.

��Ӱֱ�� State and Cuyahoga CC were tied 34-34 at half but the Challengers went on a run en route to a 70-58 victory on Thursday in Cleveland, OH.  The Pioneers are now 2-8 on the season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore baseball player JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) has signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Delaware State University.  Frey made his decision during the early signing period and will join the Hornets in the fall of 2011.
