��Ӱֱ�� State College freshman Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) earned a 6th place finish at the 2011 NJCAA Wrestling National Championships in Spokane, WA.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball teams 2010-11 season came to an end following a 78-65 loss to #1 seed Genesee CC in the semifinals of the Region III Division II Tournament.  The Pioneers, the #4 seed, conclude the season with a 14-14 mark while the Cougars will take on #3 Mercyhurst North East in the tournament finals on Sunday.

The women's 4 x 400 relay team and Brandon Lewis (Red Creek) qualified for next week's NJCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships with strong performances at the Collegiate Challenge at the NYC Armory.

Dr. Steven Jakobi, associate professor, recently had two article published in refereed journals: “Little Monkeys on the Grass…How People For and Against Evolution Fail to Understand the Theory of Evolution,” Journal of Evolution and Outreach, Vol 3, Number 3, 2010; and “An Inexpensive and Safe Experiment to Demonstrate Koch’s Postulates Using Citrus Fruit,” Journal of Biological Education, Vol 44, Number 4, 2010.

The Intern Development Program, or IDP, is a nationally recognized architectural internship program administered by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). It is required for becoming an architect in New York State.

After a slow start, the ��Ӱֱ�� State College women’s basketball team got it going and was able to defeat Niagara CCC 67-59 in a Region III Division II Tournament 1^st Round contest.  The Pioneerswill take on the #1 seed Genesee CC on Saturday in the regional final four.

��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling coach George Porter and five Pioneer wrestlers will head to Spokane, WA to compete at the 2011 NJCAA National Championships this weekend.  Wrestling begins on Friday and runs until Saturday evening when the champions are crowned.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team has earned the #4 seed in the Region III Division II Tournament and will host #5 Niagara CCC in a first round contest on Wednesday at 6 p.m.  The Lady Pioneers are 3-7 in region play while the Thunder Wolves are 2-8.

Genesee CC started the second half on an 18-0 run and increased their three-point half to 21 en route to a 72-59 victory.

Genesee CC used a 18-8 run late in the second half en route to a 70-62 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State in the regular season finale for both teams.

Both the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's and women's indoor track & field teams finished 2nd at the Region III Championships.  The Region III Championships were held in conjunction with the RIT Orange and Brown Invitational.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College Nursing Department continued its “Pay It Forward” philosophy through the awarding of its fifth annual round of “Pay It Forward” scholarships, established during the fall 2006 semester and presented to this year’s recipient, senior nursing student Laura Babcock, Wellsville.

The competition is technically a two-day event intended to provide an opportunity for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to showcase their technology and business skills. The competition includes three aspects: --the design and construction of a solar oven; --the redesign and construction of a robot; and --the production of a business plan for system.

Science and Technology Fair entries from regional junior and senior high school students will be judged in the following categories: agriculture, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, computers, earth sciences, engineering, environmental science, forensic science, health, and medicine. Entries will be divided into junior (grades 7-9), senior (10-12), and novice (4-6) categories.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team couldn't rally all the way back from an 18-point deficit and fell 84-74 to Niagara CCC in their final road contest of the season.  NCCC improves to 19-8 on the year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team used a strong second half to down Niagara CCC 66-59 on Thursday.  The win improves the Lady Pioneers to 13-12 (3-6 RIII DII).

Masked wait staff will serve patrons at tables decked out in bright colors designed to evoke a Mardi Gras atmosphere; musical jazz selections will provide additional ambience. Guests will receive complimentary Mardi Gras beads in the traditional colors of green, gold, and purple.

Former ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball players Dan Foley (Irondequoit) and Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) have played important roles in recent basketball games for their current schools.

Keady’s presentation, “Behind the Swoosh: Sweatshops and Social Justice,” recounts his experience of spending one month in an Indonesian slum living with Nike factory workers on $1.25 per day, a typical wage, and his decades-long effort to end sweatshop abuses. He will also show audience members what they can do to get involved and join this fight for justice.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team outscored JCC-Olean 46-36 in the second half en route to a 81-72 victory on Tuesday evening.

��Ӱֱ�� State College officials welcomed US Representative Tom Reed, (R-29^th District) recently as he toured the college and met mechanical engineering faculty and students.

Additionally, the web programming I class developed a Web presence for the Canisteo Community Support Group, Inc., an organization that raises funds for local causes and manages two local events: Christmas in the Village and Crazee Daze.

Danielle received 240 orders of two cookies each, meaning 480 cookies to be baked, hand-decorated, packaged, and delivered! More than 55 hours of planning and work went into the project. As a result of all the hard work, $246.65 was added to the building fund.
