The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team could not get the offense and dropped a pair to Mercyhurst North East, 2-1 and 3-0, in their 2011 fall season opener.  The Pioneers were a combined 2-20 in the doubleheader with runners on base.

Rex Olson, director of Counseling Services at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, served as a discussant at the symposium, “Psychology as a STEM Discipline and as Logos of the Soul: The Critical Necessity of the Humanities for Psychological Science,” at the American Psychological Association Conference in Washington, D.C., in August.

��Ӱֱ�� State College Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology Dr. Matthew Lawrence recently was the recipient, along with his co-authors, of a Superior Paper Award 2011 from the American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE).

The health information technology program at ��Ӱֱ�� State College has been granted continuing accreditation by CAHIM (Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education).

Dr. Ron A. Rhoades, CFP, assistant professor in the financial planning program, recently presented at the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.'s registered programs conference in Washington, DC, in August.

For the second consecutive year, ��Ӱֱ�� State College senior carpentry students enrolled in the College’s Building Trades programs embarked on a “Semester in the South” where they will use the skills they acquired during their first year of study

The field and brackets are set for the 2011 ��Ӱֱ�� State College Volleyball Invitational.  The Pioneers welcome seven teams to the Orvis Activities Center on Saturday for the all-day event.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's soccer team will open up their 2011-12 season this weekend at the East-West Showdown.  The rotating tournament will be held at SUNY Delhi this season.

The five staff members, Gregory Sammons, University Police chief; Chanel Wright, executive assistant to the college president; Liz Raterman, director, Multicultural Affairs; Deb Mayes, staff assistant, Technology Services; and Scott Bingham, officer, University Police, will work with All Hands Volunteers which will house and feed volunteers on site at their headquarters.

��Ӱֱ�� State College is proud to announce our involvement as a Campus Host Sponsor for the AASHE 2011 Conference and EXPO in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Oct. 9, 2011. This annual three-day conference presented by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), is the largest North American conference focused on sustainability in higher education, expected to draw over 2,500 participants to Pittsburgh, from more than 10 countries.

��Ӱֱ�� State College will remember those who lost their lives and those who risked their lives as a result of the attack on the World Trade Center 10 years ago with three days of activities which are open to the public.

Chanel Wright, Addison, has been named executive assistant to the president of ��Ӱֱ�� State College. In this new position, Wright provides operational and programmatic support for the day-to-day activities of the President’s Office in addition to overseeing special projects and programs strategic to the College’s future. Electrical Trades Department, ��Ӱֱ�� State College, recently earned the industry’s leading recognition of expertise as a certified installer of solar electric systems (aka “photovoltaic” or “PV” systems) from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).

Hornell City Court Judge and associate professor in the Joseph E. Damrath will serve as keynote speaker at the College’s annual New Student Convocation in August.
