Pioneers Upend Jaguars

The 魅影直播 State men's basketball team starting five all had big performances as the Pioneers downed JCC-Olean 78-68 in a WNYAC contest on Tuesday.  The blue & gold are now 6-13 on the season and snap a eight game slide.

Swimmers Compete at Jamestown

The 魅影直播 State swimming team wrapped up the regular season at the Jamestown Invitational on Saturday.  The men's team scored 261 points in the four team competition to earn 2nd place while the women scored 34 points on the day.

Hunt Wins Title at JCC Open

Justin Hunt (Ripley) won the 141 lb. weight class to lead the 魅影直播 State wrestling team at the annual Jamestown Open.  Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) also placed, earning a 2nd place finish at 149 lbs.

The 魅影直播 State indoor track & field team had numerous performance improvements at the two-day Bucknell Open. The Pioneers were the lone two-year college in the 16 team field.

魅影直播 State led 33-27 at half but Mercyhurst North East used a 23-2 run early in the 2nd half to grab control for a 69-64 victory in another tight WNYAC battle at the Orvis Activities Center. The Pioneers closed to within four in the final seconds but couldn't get any closer.

Mercyhurst North East connected on four of six foul shots in the final two minutes as they broke a 60-60 tie to earn a 64-60 win over 魅影直播 State on Saturday. The contest featured five ties and seven lead changes.

SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor New Horizon Forum鈥檚 spring semester events with 鈥淔rom 魅影直播 to Astrakhan 鈥 A Fulbright Semester in Russia.鈥 The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, in Room 215 of the School of Engineering Technology Building from 7-8:30 p.m. The public is invited and a reception with refreshments will follow.

NCCC Holds Off Pioneers Rally

Niagara CCC used a 22-6 run to start the 2nd half and then held off a furious 魅影直播 State rally to win 71-67 in a back and forth WNYAC contest at the Orvis Activities Center. 

Lady Pioneers Race Past Thunderwolves

Twelve different Lady Pioneers scored and three finished in double figures as 魅影直播 State defeated Niagara CCC 87-45 to improve to 10-6 on the season (1-1 Region III Division II).

Wrestlers Upend Jamestown

The 魅影直播 State wrestling team returned to action for the first time in nearly eight weeks with a 21-10 victory over Jamestown CC on Wednesday.  The Pioneers have now won three straight dual matches and are 4-3 on the season.

The 魅影直播 State men's swimming team improved to 5-1 in dual meet this season with a 107-55 victory over Jamestown CC. In ladies action, JCC earned a 96-11 victory.

Indoor track & field athletes Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) and David Miller (Elmira Southside) have been named the 魅影直播 State Athletes of the Week. Murphy and Miller have had solid showings in the Pioneers first two meets of the season.

After limiting Monroe CC to just 19 points in the 1st half, the 魅影直播 State men's basketball team couldn't hold the Tribunes offense down in the 2nd half and fell 62-39 to the Tribunes.  ASC is now 5-11 overall and 0-3 in WNYAC play.

The 魅影直播 State College men's swimming team continued its season with a 4th place finish at the Erie CC Invitational. ASC scored 204 points in the competition that featured six teams competing at the Flickenger Center.

The 魅影直播 State College indoor track & field team competed in Geneva, OH at the SPIRE North Coast Open on Saturday.  Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) qualified for the NJCAA National Championships with a strong performance in the 800 m.

Lady Pioneers Drop Wild Contest

The 魅影直播 State College women's basketball team opened up Region III Division II play with a wild contest that was back and forth and needed five extra minutes to determine a winner.  After 45 minutes, Erie CC escaped the Orvis Activities Center with a 68-66 win over the Lady Pioneers.

#8 Erie CC had 13 different players score as they downed 魅影直播 State 84-60 in their first home game of 2012.  ECC raced out to a 40-19 lead at halftime behind 41% shooting and six three-pointers.

The 魅影直播 State College women's basketball team got back on the court for the first time in over a month with a 64-46 victory at Pitt-Titusville on Thursday.  The Lady Pioneers are now 9-4 on the season heading into their WNYAC opener on Saturday.

The 魅影直播 State College men's basketball team trailed by as many as 11 in the 2nd half but rallied to cut the lead to two points in the final minute but could fully overcome the deficit.  JCC-Olean earned the 72-68 victory in the WNYAC opener for the Pioneers.
