Retirees of ��Ӱֱ�� State were honored recently at the college's annual recognition luncheon.

Honorees received a certificate and a college umbrella.

An ��Ӱֱ�� State professor and two staff members were recently honored with Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Teaching, Professional Service, and Classified Service.

Honorees received a college weather station and a certificate to commemorate the occasion.

President Dr. Skip Sullivan said, “I am extremely pleased about ��Ӱֱ�� State’s top ranking in the Brookings Institution’s report. This ranking is a testament to the high-quality education our students receive here and I could not be more proud of our students, alumni, faculty, and staff.”

The 28 essays cover the spectrum of life forms, from bacteria and fungi, to plants and animals.

The foundation provides monetary support to enhance learning opportunities for students through scholarships, work grants, and community service projects. The Ed Foundation also funds the Building Trades programs’ hands-on home construction projects.

��Ӱֱ�� State recognized approximately 900 May 2015 graduates during commencement ceremonies on Sunday. Dr. Skip Sullivan, president, presided over the event, held at Pioneer Stadium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

Six dogs were able to bring some much-needed relief to students studying for final exams on Monday, May 11, during the Hinkle Memorial Library’s Dogs in the Library event.

“The best thing about the Activities Center is that it is a place where students can come in to relax,” he said. “It is important for students to stop in simply because of all the great activities and services the center has to offer.”

Craig Corbell, owner of the Lincoln and friend of ��Ӱֱ�� State, is sponsoring the college’s team, which consists of Automotive Trades Assistant Professor James Fleischman, and heavy equipment: truck and diesel technician students Jacob Macken, of Alden, and Ryan Balcerzak, of Elma

The ��Ӱֱ�� State Basic Utility Vehicle (BUV) Team recently took second place in the annual BUV Design Competition held April 25 in Batavia, OH.

Carlo said the students intend to have a final design presentation and collate all the solutions into a design booklet.

The chapter was formed in February, when charter members and officers were installed during a ceremony. The following is a list of names, majors, and hometowns of students who were initiated:

A total of 50 student designs for ��Ӱֱ�� State’s newly acquired food truck were presented for display and judging.

Whether they are increasing energy efficiency or looking to showcase their skills in an international engineering competition, mechanical engineering technology (MET) students have been working hard during the spring semester on some amazing projects.
