“As a college of technology, STEM fields are an important part of our academic focus, having hosted the New York State STEM Education Collaborative Summer Institute for the second straight year this past July,” said Dr. Skip Sullivan, president of ��Ӱֱ�� State.

Looking back on this semester, Bingham said, “It was a fast-paced season, but the team’s desire and dedication prevailed.”

“This was an excellent opportunity for ��Ӱֱ�� State and ��Ӱֱ�� University students to display their talents and abilities on a national scale,” Richardson said. “They were also able to receive a valuable hands-on learning experience unlike any other, which will undoubtedly benefit them in their careers once they graduate.”

On Tuesday, students and faculty could take their picture in an “It’s On Us” cut-out and sign a pledge to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault. On Wednesday, participants had the opportunity to create posters, signs, and items to wear for the “Take Back the Night” event on Thursday.

Approximately 500 local college students and volunteers from ��Ӱֱ�� University, ��Ӱֱ�� State, and Houghton College came together to perform a day of community service projects throughout Allegany County.

The New York State Governor’s Office recently reappointed Patricia K. Fogarty, of Belmont, and appointed Eva Benedict, of Wellsville, to the ��Ӱֱ�� State College Council.

For the second time this month, the ��Ӱֱ�� State Pioneer Woodsmen’s Club sawed, rolled, chopped, and climbed its way to the top in two divisions at a timber sports competition.

Dr. Richard Kellogg, professor emeritus of psychology at ��Ӱֱ�� State, is the author of an article appearing in the most recent issue of Paperback Parade, a quarterly journal for paperback readers and collectors. Titled “Dagmar in the World of Espionage,” the article reviews two spy novels written by Dagmar and released by Lancer Books in 1967.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State Pioneer Woodsmen’s Club on Oct. 3 won two divisions of the Finger Lakes Logging Sports Competition held at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua.

The Hinkle Memorial Library at ��Ӱֱ�� State is featuring the work of alumnus and 3-D artist and sculptor Jason Thomas Burns now through Friday, Oct. 30.

The Center for Community Education and Training at ��Ӱֱ�� State will host a “Community Overdose Training” event from 8:30-10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16 at the Lake Lodge, 6107 Terbury Road, ��Ӱֱ�� Station.

The Educational Foundation of ��Ӱֱ��, Inc., a private foundation representing faculty, staff, and friends of ��Ӱֱ�� State, has welcomed a new board member, Jim Knapp, of Wellsville.

Specifically, funds raised through the 50-50-50 campaign will be used for new wall coverings in the exhibit space, additional display furniture, and a new gallery hanging system. The campaign’s goal is $2,500.
