In only its second season, the ��Ӱֱ�� State Polo Club is already making a name for itself, having won nine out of its 10 contests, including two victories over Harvard in early February.

Emily Erdmann, an ��Ӱֱ�� State senior drafting/CAD major from Whitesville, has recently been named a 2015-2016 Vanguard Student Recognition Award winner.

Nunley brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications, media relations, targeted marketing, and brand positioning to ��Ӱֱ�� State. Most recently, he served as vice president of Marketing and Communications at America’s largest movie theater exhibitor.

Artist-teacher and ��Ӱֱ�� University alumna Ashley Smith will exhibit some of her multi-media artwork at the ��Ӱֱ�� State Hinkle Memorial Library Feb. 29 through April 1.

In Studio Tokyo, which ran from Jan. 9-24, the students were able to explore Japanese art, cinema, animation, and digital animation.

Through an eight-year cooperative agreement, students in the ��Ӱֱ�� State Electrical Trades Department have been able to work on some amazing projects at the US National Arboretum (USNA) in Washington, DC, and their most recent endeavor is no exception.

Brandon Holley, of Livonia, was awarded the 2015 Thomas Wurzer Memorial Scholarship at the January meeting of the Rochester chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester.

The college’s Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in information technology: network administration was ranked 10th on the list of “15 of the Most Affordable Bachelor’s Degrees in Networking and Network Administration.” Its BTech in information technology: web development came in at No. 12 on the list of “15 of the Most Affordable Bachelor’s Degrees in Web Design and Development.”

The public is invited to meet the site visit team and share their comments about the program in person at a meeting scheduled for 3:30 p.m. March 2 at the Physical and Health Sciences Building, Room 102. Written comments are also welcome.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10 at the Pioneer Center on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus, the student-run event will allow attendees to select from hundreds of new or lightly used prom dresses, and take one home without any cost. People may also make donations that day, including dresses, shoes, and gear.

Classes have been cancelled today, Feb. 16, due to weather.

Taylor Voigt, a nursing student from Fairport, holds a child at one of the mobile medical clinics set up in Onaville, Haiti, a large, post-earthquake settlement north of Port-au-Prince.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State Office of Student Records and Financial Services will participate in the annual SUNY Financial Aid Days, Saturday, Feb. 20, beginning at 9 a.m. in EJ Brown Business Hall, Room 212, on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

This major will provide graduates with foundational knowledge in graphic design for screen-based and print media. It will focus on developing the contemporary problem-solving skills needed to apply the elements and principles of design, drawing, and visual communication. An awareness of design history is combined with the latest topics in graphic and media design to provide an informed student aimed at innovation in the field.

The Educational Foundation of ��Ӱֱ��, Inc. annually provides $10,000 to fund eight to 10 ��Ӱֱ�� State students through its work-grant program, allowing students who are ineligible for work-study funds to find employment on campus. The grant is renewable on an annual basis.

Six fifth-year architecture students in ��Ӱֱ�� State’s first-ever Bachelor of Architecture class presented progress drawings and models to industry professionals as part of their Design Studio 7 – Thesis Definition course work.

A number of ��Ӱֱ�� State and ��Ӱֱ�� University faculty, staff, students, and community members were recognized for their service to others Jan. 28 during the sixth annual Celebration of Service Ceremony at the ��Ӱֱ�� Village Hall.

Eight senior architecture students presented at the annual Appalachian Teaching Project (ATP) conference at the end of the fall semester in Washington, DC.
