Trevor Huntley, masonry, Conklin, earned a bronze medal in the masonry category for placing third against competitors from across the country. Andrea Koston, culinary arts: baking, production and management, Rochester, also earned a top 10 national finish, coming in fifth place in the commercial baking category.

Personifying ��Ӱֱ�� State’s commitments to civic engagement and protecting the environment, a group of 10 housing assistants did their part to make sustainability a priority among those living in the college’s residence halls.

This was Packard’s 14th consecutive year of serving in this capacity. He was one of about 900 high school and college mathematics educators from around the world who scored the free-response questions for approximately 435,000 students who took the AP calculus exam. 

��Ӱֱ�� State came in third in the statewide rankings, which were created using a methodology that weighs affordability, enrollment, graduation rates, student outcomes, and other data curated from the National Center of Education Statistics (NCES).

Faculty and staff members who retired this year include Mary Bordeaux, Leon Buckwalter, Jacalyn Clemons, Michael Cobb, Joseph Damrath, Donald Davison, Christine Drum, Larry Drumm, Roger Drum, Roger Elias, Michael Foster, Michelle Green, Sandra Kinnerney, Tracy Locke, Charlene McGregor, Linnea Rassman, Debra Root, Edward Tezak, Doreen Vance, and James VanCise.

Those employees honored for 10 years included Kenneth Baker, Kristine Clark, Jacalyn Clemons, Daniel Davison, Joel Dudley, Marsha Goodwin, William Greene, Laurie Halsey, Garry Kring, SueAnn Kring, Tracy Locke, Peter McClain, Marjorie Morgan, Spencer Peavey, Nichole Preston, Florence Stephens, Amy Werner, Jeffrey Wilcox, and Kyle Winans.

Those employees honored for 20 years included Mary Bordeaux, Kandi Geibel, Matthew Heller, Calvin O’Dell, and Gregory Sammons.

Those employees honored for 25 years included Regina Boyd, Robert Bretzin, Steven Martinelli, Vanessa Stachowski, Robin Torpey, and Choichiro Yatani.

Those employees honored for 30 years included Andrew Bayus, Larry Drumm, Roger Elias, Patricia Lewis-Brownell, and Deborah Neu.

Those employees honored for 35 years included Kathleen Bayus, ��Ӱֱ�� Station, secretary 1, Marketing Communications; and Lawrence Perkins, Andover, grounds supervisor, Facilities Services.

Students will be able to use their meal plan to dine from the food truck by purchasing a value meal option, or by using Dining Dollars or Campus Spending Account cash. Cashiers onboard will also accept cash and credit cards.

��Ӱֱ�� State recently announced promotions for faculty and staff.

The Community Design Center of Rochester, the region’s only non-profit, citizen-driven organization dedicated to promoting healthy, sustainable communities, recently appointed two new members to its Board of Directors, including ��Ӱֱ�� State Professor of Architecture William Dean, AIA, NCARB, LEED® AP.

The Print and Mail Services Department at ��Ӱֱ�� State recently received an honorable mention in the Cross Media category in the Association of College and University Printers 2016 print competition, held April 2-6 in Cincinnati, OH.

Recognized at the college’s employee recognition banquet were: Steven Scott, Andover; Mark Amman, Andover; Travis Armison, Fillmore; and Alyshia Zurlick, ��Ӱֱ�� Station. Each received a certificate and a monetary gift.

This year’s recipients were Debra Burch, associate professor in the Culinary Arts Department, and Jason Cronin, senior staff assistant and head baseball coach in the Athletics Department.

David Hunt received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, Matthew Ryan was honored with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, Scott Bingham was presented with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service, and George “Joe” Richardson and John Santora were both named recipients of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service. Each received a certificate and a medallion.
