Members of the Gamma Theta Gamma fraternity are transforming their house at 52 N. Main St. in ��Ӱֱ�� Tuesday and Wednesday into a haunted house as a fundraiser.

US Army Veteran Lt. Col. Dave Grossman spoke with law enforcement officers and criminal justice majors recently during a seminar at ��Ӱֱ�� State College.

The relationship between ��Ӱֱ�� State College and HistoriCorps is a strong one, resulting in both the restoration of historic facilities all around the country and excellent hands-on learning experiences for ASC students.

Two officers from the University Police Department at ��Ӱֱ�� State College recently presented at this year’s SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Conference in Scio.

��Ӱֱ�� State College will be screening a documentary titled “Reinventing Power: America’s Renewable Energy Boom” at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 in room 107 of the Physical and Health Sciences Building.

With an emphasis on hands-on, real-world learning, ��Ӱֱ�� State College students in the School of Applied Technology are well prepared for the jobs they want after only two years of study. In fact, 99 percent have a job immediately after graduation or they continue studies for another degree.

For the past few weeks, ��Ӱֱ�� State heavy equipment operations students have been working with Allegany County Soil and Water Conservation District on a project to protect the residents of Shongo from a flood-prone creek that has overrun its banks on multiple occasions.

��Ӱֱ�� State College alumnus Ben Bailey is living proof of how a skilled trades degree can pave the way for a bright future.

“Working here has proved that the reputation actually is real,” El Sayed said. “Everybody is helpful and is working toward a well-defined mission. I love the unity and cohesiveness.”

Jeremy Speed Schwartz, an associate professor in the Digital Media and Animation Department, was part of a group of artists that recently received a Lumen Prize for Digital Art.

Numerous students, alumni, faculty, and staff came out to celebrate and display their Pioneer Pride during ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s 2018 Homecoming and Family Weekend.

��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) recently had two of its programs - veterinary technology and health information technology (HIT) – ranked in the top 10 in the nation. In addition, several ranking sites have rated the college highly when comparing all US schools offering these and other programs within the School of Arts and Sciences.

��Ӱֱ�� State College is proud to be among the educational partners who play a role in Alstom’s success.

Pizza and college students go together like the sun and the moon, and ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s new Pizza Pioneer dining location officially opened with a galaxy of rave reviews. The new dining hot-spot is located at 10 Elm, which is also home to Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Service’s (ACES) Fresh Market and Café. 

The cost of the meal is $17 for adults and $8 for children 10 and under. No reservations will be accepted.

��Ӱֱ�� State College recently hosted 350 Future Farmers of America students from 21 western New York high schools for the 32^nd annual Agriculture Skills Contest.

Sammons successfully defended his dissertation, “Our Right to Know: How Campus Police Chiefs Experience the Clery Act” and subsequently completed all requirements to graduate with a Doctorate in Education (EdD) in organizational leadership.

The students took part in the 2018 Western New York Student Leadership Conference, engaging in a number of educational sessions and learning about such topics as civic engagement, finding your voice as a student, free speech on college campuses, personality assessments, and more.

Ferreri, an architecture major from Marion, will join Professor William C. Dean, RA, AIA, the department’s faculty architect licensing advisor, in providing information and guidance on experience and registration to the department’s 170 architecture students.
