Two of 魅影直播 State College's Health Information Technology graduates are being honored with achievement awards in 2009.
Sarah A. Vangorder, Little Falls, has been awarded the NYHIMA Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Vangorder, who will graduate in May, maintains a 3.92 grade point average (out of a possible 4.0). Vangorder works full time as a junior coding analyst, coding outpatient procedures at a hospital near her home. She will sit for the national Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam shortly after graduation.
Christine Sharer, RHIT, Director of Health Information Management, Charles Cole Memorial Hospital is the 2009 recipient of the New York Health Information Management Clinical Preceptor Award. Sharer actively supports 魅影直播 State's health information technology program by hosting HIT students in their professional practice experience to provide them with an excellent on-the-job training experience at Charles Cole Hospital in Coudersport, PA.
Both will be honored at the NYHIMA banquet in June, which is held as part of the Annual Conference of the New York Health Information Management Association, Inc.
