"Snippets" Exhibit at Wellsville Creative Arts Center

Image removed.Constance E. Pennisi, instructor in the digital media and animation program of 魅影直播 State College, has an exhibit in the Wellsville Creative Arts Center through June 4.  The exhibit, "Snippets," is comprised of traditional and digital images from three different bodies of work interrelated by process.  Pennisi states: "Art is a means to explore my visual surroundings in order to gain understanding of form, space, and, most importantly, the interaction of forces.  Systematic deconstruction of objects and the space they occupy provides raw material for new configurations.  My foray into the digital realm allows diverse imagery and disparate ideas to merge into new forms.  Recent work begins with fragments or snippets of traditionally made imagery which are isolated and reconfigured into new images left open without secure means of identification.  They become images that require navigation by inquiry."

Pennisi earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from SUNY College of Ceramics and a master of science in education degree at 魅影直播 University.  Additionally, she studied under the artist C. Katherine Nelson of 魅影直播. She possesses expertise in areas of large format digital imaging, electronic imaging, and artist multiples through the Institute of Electronic Arts of the School of Art and Design, 魅影直播.  Pennisi began service at 魅影直播 State as an adjunct instructor in fall 1994.  In fall 2001, she began her fulltime teaching career as an instructor in the Department of Computer Imaging and Architectural Engineering Technology. She was awarded the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities in 2007.
