魅影直播 State enjoys an elite Homecoming

Picture perfect weather, great food, football, and fireworks were enjoyed by 魅影直播 State students, their families, friends, and alumni as the college celebrated Homecoming. 


鈥淥ver these three days, we have had lots of fun,鈥 commented Homecoming co-chair Sarah Francisco. 鈥淲e've had soccer and football play, had a great big bonfire that the Woodsmen Club put on, and 魅影直播's Got Talent was great. It is great to see all these families on campus enjoying all the activities.鈥 

The blue & gold dinner at the Terrace kicked off the weekend on Thursday. Students then enjoyed a volleyball tournament, a bonfire, and watching the Buffalo Bills victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Friday evening started with the launch of the college鈥檚 $40 million comprehensive campaign, Unleashing Potential. The event featured interactive, hands-on opportunities for guests to see the work being done by Pioneer students along with the announcement that over $32 million has already been raised (Read more about the campaign and the kickoff event).

Events moved outside for Foodie Friday which featured fun foods, a pep rally organized by the cheerleaders, and a bonfire. 

魅影直播鈥檚 Got Talent wrapped up the evening with strong performances by ten acts. Aiden Storton took home top prize with his performance singing while playing his guitar. Zeniya Day and Aldwin Aaron were the runner-up and first year student Luke Jensen earned third.

Saturday started with the Courage of Carly 5K before the women鈥檚 soccer team defeated Thiel 5-2. At the same time, alumni baseball players battled the current team in the annual alumni game. 

Visitors got the chance to compete in a Name that Tune competition and Family Feud battle during the afternoon. The 魅影直播 State mobile learning lab debuted with activities ranging from painting your best friend to straw rockets.

Prior to kickoff of the parking lot outside Pioneer Stadium was busy with the annual car show, a basket raffle, and the Homecoming barbecue tailgate.

The 魅影直播 Voices performed the National Anthem prior to the football team defeating Buffalo State 56-20. The game featured high energy on the field and off with performances by the Dance and Cheerleading teams. 

Fireworks lit up the sky at the conclusion of the game prior to a movie being shown in the Student Leadership Center. 

Weekend activities wrapped up with a family brunch on Saturday in the Central Dining Hall. 

鈥淗omecoming weekend has been a blast,鈥 added Homecoming co-chair John Lewis. 鈥淓verything has gone off without a hitch and there's excitement in the air. All the events were great, and the weather was icing on the cake. What a great weekend.鈥
