Drama Club to present “Cinderella – Enchanted Edition”

Grace Pfleuger and Anthony Woods star in Ӱֱ State’s production of “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella – Enchanted Edition.” Performances will be held Nov. 20, 21, and 22.

The Ӱֱ State Drama Club is excited to present “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella – Enchanted Edition” as their fall production. Four performances will be held in the Cappadonia Auditorium from Nov. 20-22.

Inspired by the beloved 1997 television version starring Brandy and Whitney Houston, this enchanting stage adaptation brings the classic fairy tale to life with heart, humor, and unforgettable songs.

Grace Pfleuger, a senior veterinary technology major and Vice President of the Drama club, stars as Cinderella alongside her Prince Christopher Charming, Anthony Woods, a third-year architecture and design major. The pair have both been heavily involved in the Ӱֱ State Drama Club for their entire student career.

“I’ve really enjoyed every show I have worked on here at Ӱֱ State, and this show is no exception,” state Director Abby Hurley. “I cannot wait to see the magic come alive on stage for our audience. The students have worked so hard.”

This show is appropriate for all audiences and open to all. Tickets are now on sale at the campus bookstore and can be purchased with cash, card, or CSA. Admission is $5 for students and $10 for general admission. Tickets will also be sold at the door for cash only.

A concessions stand will be available (cash only) to benefit the Mary Cariola Center in Rochester, the Performing Arts groups’ civic engagement cause.

Performances will be performed at 7 p.m. on Nov. 20, 21, and 22 with a 2 p.m. matinee on Nov. 22.

Questions about the production can be directed to Hurley at hurleyac@alfredstate.edu or drama club advisor Tyler Ribble ribblet@alfredstate.edu.

CINDERELLA is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. Music by Richard Rodgers, book & lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Adapted for the stage by Tom Briggs from the Teleplay by Robert L. Freedman.
