Jeff Stevens, Dean of the School of Applied Technology at 魅影直播 State, will be presenting a webinar on the impact of simulation on the college鈥檚 Heavy Equipment Operations program. CM Labs is sponsoring the webinar that will take place on February 19 at 2 p.m.
The webinar will examine 魅影直播 State College鈥檚 decision-making process, implementation considerations, and resulting outcomes, providing a real-world example of how simulation can complement hands-on equipment training in vocational education.
"Our students have the ability to gain hands-on experience daily using our simulators,鈥 commented Stevens. 鈥淚ncorporating these machines into our curriculum over the past couple of years has allowed our students to grow and experience a wide variety of situations and circumstances they will see in the real word."
魅影直播 State students gain hands-on experience by using eight simulators purchased through CM Labs. Each simulator allows students to choose between eight pieces of equipment. They are placed in different scenarios that they must complete in each of the pieces of equipment.
鈥淔irst semester students use these simulators daily,鈥 added Heavy Equipment Operations Instructor Adam Fitzpatrick. 鈥淭he simulators help the students develop better hand eye coordination and help us identify any weaknesses the students may have to have. We record their grades at the beginning of the semester and again at the end to demonstrate the improvement they make.鈥
