Around 80 ��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) Pioneers came together online recently to share, listen, and learn during a virtual poetry reading held on Microsoft Teams.

Even in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, ��Ӱֱ�� State Pioneers are still finding ways to come together virtually to connect, bond, and lift each other’s spirits. One of these ways came in the form of a recent virtual poetry reading hosted by the English and Humanities Department. 

Morgan’s talk focused on Burns’ young life in Ayrshire, Scotland, and influences on the poet in the years before he became a celebrated figure, first in Scotland and, in a short time, in Europe and the United States.

State University of New York Distinguished Teaching Professor Dr. Aniko Constantine, English and Humanities Department, was recently honored for 45 years of service to ��Ӱֱ�� State.

Come and enjoy music, desserts, and artwork, all created by ��Ӱֱ�� State students at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in the Allegany Room of the Central Dining Hall.

The book is a collection of poems—each with its own voice and emotional quality—all sharing the same sense of poignancy. “What happens to us when things are lost?” Mitchell asks. “The impetus came from me asking myself that question—how do people deal with different kinds of loss?”
