Reception Held for ASC President and Wife

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's new president Dr. John M. Anderson, left, and his wife Vivien were the guests of honor at a recent reception hosted by the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Council at Club 57 in Hornell, where they renewed acquaintances with old friends and former colleagues and met new friends as part of their re-introduction to the area.

Lady Pioneers continue spring break trip

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team continued their spring trip to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday and were downed 8-4 by OSU (OH) Newark and 9-1 by Mercer (NJ) County CC.  The Lady Pioneers head into the final day of competition at Snowbird Softball on Thursday with a 0-6 record.

Trio of A-State Alums help Wesleyan to Nationals

A trio of ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's basketball alumni helped the Roberts Wesleyan basketball team to a 22-12 record and a 4th place finish at the National Christian College Athletic Association.  Erin Farney (South Seneca), Jaslynn Lee (Rush Henrietta), and Erin Vess (Irondequoit) all were key contributors to the Lady Raiders.

Marshall earns another award

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomore guard Dusty Marshall (Newfield) has been honored for the third time this postseason.  Marshall who was previously named 1st team All-Region and 1st team All-Region adds a 2nd team Basketball Coaches Association of New York 2nd team honor.

Blue and Gold Run Win Streak to Four

After dropping their first three games on their southern trip to Cocoa, FL the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team has run their current winning streak to four games with two victories on Tuesday.  The Blue and Gold downed Minot State (ND) Bottineau 6-4 and then got the offense going with a 13-3 victory over Riverland (MN) CC.

Benchich tosses shutout

Jeff Benchich (Millbrook) tossed a complete game four-hit shutout as ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State scored two runs in the 7th inning to down Illinois Valley 2-0 on Monday afternoon.  The Pioneers improve to 2-3 on the young 2008 season.

ASC falls to Rochester & Southwestern in Myrtle

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team fell in both halves of a doubleheader as they continued play at Snowbird Softball in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Lady Pioneers (0-4) fell 2-1 in the opener to Rochester (MN) CTC and then fell 11-2 to Southwestern (IA) CC.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College softball team couldn't overcome sloppy defense and fell in both halves of their season opening doubleheader in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Lady Pioneers fell 11-0 to Mohawk Valley CC in the opener and then fell 8-4 to Northampton (PA) CC.

Pioneers Register First Win of the Spring

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team recorded their first win of the 2008 season on Sunday afternoon in a 5-4 victory over Ridgewater (MN) CC.  The team is now 1-3 on the year.

Foster fires a 3-hitter but Blue and Gold fall

Andrew Foster (Clarkson, ONT.) allowed just three hits in six innings of work but ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State managed just four hits in a 3-1 loss to the University of Connecticut - Avery Point in Cocoa, FL on Friday.
