Boyd Named Coach of the Year

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's basketball coach Gina Boyd has been named the Region III Division II Coach of the Year.  Boyd led the Lady Pioneers to a 17-9 record and the #2 seed in the regional tournament.

Getting nutritious, tasty, fresh, and appealing meals on the table every day at the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College campus is a challenging affair. It means developing recipes, planning menus, locating and ordering large quantities of foodstuffs, preparing the food, and serving it to customers at the right temperature - all while maintaining the quality and safety of the food.

Seven Swimmers Earn All-Region

Seven members of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College swimming team have earned All-Region honors.  Five members of the Region III Runner-up men's team earned All-Region honors while two members of the women's 3rd place team were honored.

Smith Named Player of the Year, McLaughlin & Carr named All-Region

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomore forward Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III Division II Player of the Year.  Smith was joined by teammate Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) on the All-Region first team while Dasaundra Carr (Boys & Girls) was a third team selection.

ASC Offers Out-of-State Academic Scholarship

In an effort to expand its outreach to prospective students outside the New York State borders, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College will begin offering a new scholarship for out-of-state students, the Out-of-State Academic Scholarship, beginning with the Fall 2008 semester.

$29,320 Grant Issued to ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State’s Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College recently received a $29,320 grant to organize a system for local farmers to supply ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's dining services with fresh produce. To accomplish this, the Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture (COSA) will provide support and educational benefits for local farmers.

Pioneers can't overcome poor shooting

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's basketball team shot just 35.5% from the floor and saw their season come to an end in a 59-54 loss to Genesee CC in a Region III Division II Tournament First Round contest.  The Pioneers end the season with a 19-11 record while the Cougars (13-15) advance to the semifinals to take on #1 Erie CC on Saturday afternoon at Jamestown CC.
