÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College is hosting NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Organic Agriculture Specialist Sarah Johnston on Monday, Oct. 1, for a full day of conversation and dialogue on the needs of organic farmers in New York State and what role ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State's new Center for Organic and Sustainable Agriculture can play, now and in the future, at a WNY Organic Agriculture Roundtable. NYS Sen. Catharine Young is expected to attend.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Student Takes Third in National Competition

Five members of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College NYS College/Post-secondary Skills USA delegation placed in the top 10 at the National SkillsUSA Championship in Kansas City, MO, in late summer. Cristian Cruz, East Amherst, who took first place in the state then continued on to Nationals, was awarded a bronze medal for third place in the nation in masonry.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College volleyball team downed the defending Region III Division III champions 3-1 on Tuesday evening.  The Lady Pioneers, ranked #10 NJCAA Divison III, improved to 10-2 with the victory over Monroe CC, 30-25, 30-17, 27-30, and 32-30.

ACES Reopens Central Dining Hall Serving Line

Bake Sale Fall 2007

Students enrolled in the bakery, production and management program of the Culinary Arts Department at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, will hold their annual community bake sale Friday, Oct. 5 AND Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Culinary Arts Building parking lot, Wellsville, from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. and 11 a.m.-2 p.m., respectively.

Pioneers split with Kats

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team split a WNYAC doubleheader at Erie CC on Sunday afternoon.  ECC won the opener 6-0 before ASC rebounded to win the nightcap 9-5.   The Pioneers are now 6-4 (5-3 WNYAC) this fall.

Pay it Forward (JT Robertson)

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College nursing students welcomed Jon Thomas (JT) Robertson, 11, of Cuba, to one of their classes early in the fall semester to help them kick off the caring project in nursing. The caring project is an outgrowth of the "pay it forward" concept (from the movie by the same name) which promotes the practice of helping others, while expecting nothing in return.
