The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team scored 17 runs and collected 21 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Elmira College JV, 6-0 and 11-1, to open up the home portion of their schedule.�� The Lady Pioneers improve to 4-7 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's outdoor track and field team is ranked #1 in the first NJCAA Division III poll of the 2009 season.�� The women are currently ranked #3.

Dr. John C. Williams, associate professor and chair, Mechanical Engineering Technology Department, ��Ӱֱ�� State College, was recently elected chair of the Engineering Technology Division (ETD) of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), which functions to support individual member interests related to the field of engineering technology.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team jumped out to early leads in both halves of a doubleheader at Lackawanna College but the Falcons rallied for victories in both games, 9-8 and 9-5.�� The Pioneers fall to 4-9 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team hung tough with #2 ranked Herkimer CCC on Saturday trailing by just three at half, 11-8, but was unable to close the deficit and fell 20-14 to the Generals.�� ASC concludes their three-game season opening road trip with a 2-1 mark while HCCC improves to 4-1.

Both the men's and women's ��Ӱֱ�� State College track and field teams finished on top of the ASC Quad Meet held Friday afternoon.�� The men scored 186.5 points while the women scored 138 points.

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work^® Day on Thursday, April 23.

ASC
opens this activity up not only to daughters and sons, but also to
granddaughters, grandsons, nieces, and nephews between the ages of nine and
15.

��Ӱֱ�� State College will host a track and field quad meet on Friday featuring ��Ӱֱ�� University, Finger Lakes CC, Erie CC, and ASC.�� Action is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.

��Ӱֱ�� State College students enrolled in the School
of Applied Technology will have the opportunity to visit with prospective
employers during the Wellsville Career Fair, Thursday, March 26, from 1-3 p.m.
in the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus.

State College will celebrate the academic achievements of its students during
the 25th annual Honors Convocation slated for Sunday,
April 19, at 4 p.m. in the Orvis Gymnasium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

The convocation recognizes the outstanding work of students through
acknowledgement of membership in a variety of honor societies as well as the
conferment of scholarships and special recognitions.��

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College outdoor track and field team opened up the outdoor portion of their season with strong performances at the Howard (MD) CC Invitational.�� Five Pioneers qualified for the NJCAA Division III Nationals to be held at ��Ӱֱ�� State in May with solid efforts.

For the second day in a row the ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team netted 13 goals in a victory during their annual southern trip.�� Friday, the Pioneers improved to 2-0 with a 13-11 victory over Delaware Tech in a contest played at Wesley College.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team wrapped up their annual trip to Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, FL by winning one of their final four games.�� ASC fell 7-5 to the Ontario Prospects, lost 4-0 to Riverland (MN) CC, defeated Massasoit (MA) CC 8-3, and dropped a close one 7-5 to Brookdale (NJ) CC.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team couldn't get the bats going as they fell in their spring trip doubleheader finale.�� The Lady Pioneers fell 6-0 to the County College of Morris (NJ) and 4-0 to Cumberland (NJ) County College.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team opened up their 2009 season with a convincing 13-6 victory over Harford (MD) CC in Bel Air, MD on Thursday.�� Six Pioneers found the back of the net in the victory.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team dropped a pair of games to NJCAA Division II competition on Thursday at Snowbird Softball in Myrtle Beach, SC.�� In the opener, ASC fell 3-1 to Potomac (WV) State and 12-1 to Southwestern (IA) CC.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team won two of three games in a tripleheader in Myrtle Beach, SC on Wednesday.�� The Lady Pioneers downed Genesee CC 6-5 and Massasoit (MA) CC 11-0 but fell 9-1 to Dutchess CC in the final game of the day.

Kell Orlando (Seneca Falls) is not your ordinary ��Ӱֱ�� State College student.  Orlando, a freshman motor sports technology major taking classes on the Wellsville campus, has his sights set on one day representing the USA in the Olympics on the curling ice.

Today's softball action in Myrtle Beach, SC was cancelled due to rain and has forced schedule changes for the ��Ӱֱ�� State softball team for the remainder of their spring trip.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team lost an extra inning affair 7-6 to Rochester (MN) CTC in Myrtle Beach, SC.�� The Lady Pioneers scored a run in the top of the 8th to take a 6-5 lead but the Hornets scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning with two outs to win the contest.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team downed Cumberland (NJ) County College 9-1 but fell to Riverland (MN) CC 7-6 as they continue their week long trip in Cocoa, FL.�� The Pioneeers are now 3-4 on the year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team opened up the 2009 season with a wild contest versus WNYAC foe Genesee CC in Myrtle Beach, SC.�� The Lady Pioneers fell behind 6-2 early and couldn't rally all the way back and fell 10-9.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team split four games as they continue their southern trip in Cocoa Expo.�� The Pioneers defeated Miami (OH) Middletown 17-8 and Jamestown CC 12-4 but fell 5-4 to Milwaukee (WI) Area Tech and 5-2 to UCONN Avery Point.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team fell 4-2 to Lafleche Academy (Quebec) in their 2009 opener played at Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, FL.�� The Dragons broke a 2-2 tie with single runs in the 5th and 6th inning.

State College's Office of Career Development will host a "WINS" (Women in
Non-traditional Studies) FutureBound Career Day, Friday, March 27, from 8:30
a.m.-2:15 p.m., at the Orvis Activities Center on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

��Ӱֱ�� State College students enrolled in the building construction program were on hand recently to watch as LC Whitford, Wellsville, lent a hand (or rather, a highlift forklift) in placing a timberframe structure at the entrance of the Electrical Building on the Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville. 

Local
high school students were the guests of ��Ӱֱ�� State College recently as they
began the first phase of a new technology and business competition to be
completed on April 7.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore Dan Reynolds earned 1st team All-American status by winning the pole vault title at the NJCAA National Championship at Texas Tech University.�� Reynolds becomes just the second Pioneer during Coach Gary Moore's tenure to win an indoor title (Damien Rodriquez - 1997 in the pole vault).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team finished the four-day NJCAA National Championship in 7th place.�� The blue and gold racked up 193 points.�� Indian River (FL) CC continued their dominance in the pool by repeating as national champion.
