Pioneers Fall in OT Thriller

Mike Lawandus connected on a 41-yard field goal in the first overtime as Erie CC defeated 魅影直播 State 20-17 in a wild Homecoming contest.  The win improves the Kats to 1-2 (1-0 NFC) while the Pioneers fall to 2-1 (0-1 NFC).

Men鈥檚 Cross Country Wins FLCC Invite, Women 2nd

The 魅影直播 State College men鈥檚 cross country team won their second straight invitational taking home the crown at the FLCC Bruce Bridgeman Invitational.  The women鈥檚 team finished 2nd.

The 魅影直播 State College women鈥檚 soccer team registered their third straight victory, 4-1 over Mercyhurst North East, on Saturday afternoon as the college celebrated Homecoming 2010.  The blue & gold are now 3-1 on the year.

The 魅影直播 State College volleyball team won an exciting four game match, 17-25, 29-27, 30-28, and 25-11, over Monroe CC.  The victory improves the Lady Pioneers to 6-4 and drops the Lady Tribunes to 6-4.

Jenna Lynn (York) netted two goals as the 魅影直播 State College women's soccer team shutout Jamestown CC 2-0 on Thursday.  The Lady Pioneers are now 2-1 on the season.

Lightning Postpones Men's Soccer

The 魅影直播 State College men's soccer game versus Jamestown CC was postponed due to frequent flashes of lightning.  The teams had played less than 10 minutes.  The two teams will make-up the game later in the season but no date has been determined yet.

1959 Men鈥檚 Basketball Team to be honored at Hall of Fame Ceremonies

The 魅影直播 State College athletic department will honor the 1959 Men鈥檚 Basketball team during the Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony to be held Friday in the Orvis Activities Center Auditorium.  The 1959 squad won the first Region III Championship in 魅影直播 State history and fourth ever in school history.

魅影直播 State College will induct four new members into the athletic department Hall of Fame this Friday evening.  Jody Alvarez (women鈥檚 soccer), Kirt Zimniewicz (baseball), Alison Brotherton (softball), and Gaffel Hippolyte (track & field) will be inducted at 6 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center auditorium.

New Baccalaureate-level Sport Management Program

魅影直播 State College will be accepting students in a new baccalaureate-level sport management program beginning fall 2011. Students may enter the program, which results in a bachelor of business administration (BBA) degree, as freshmen; students holding associate degrees in sport management may transfer into the program with full junior status.

The 魅影直播 State College baseball team split a WNYAC doubleheader vs. Erie CC on Sunday afternoon.  The Kats won the opener 9-7 while the Pioneers won the nightcap 2-0.  ASC is now 3-3 on the season.

Cody Scepaniak (Vestal) and Josh Griffin (Englewood, NJ) connected on four touchdown passes and Sir Aaron Taylor (West Chester/Lincoln Hall) scored twice as the 魅影直播 State football team rolled past Hartwick JV 56-23.  ASC is 2-0 for the first time since 2006 with the victory.

The 魅影直播 State College cross country teams defeated Finger Lakes CC in the ASC Invitational on Saturday.  The Pioneer men scored a perfect 15 in winning while the women won by a score of 24-31.

Men's Basketball to Host Blood Drive

The 魅影直播 State College men's basketball team will host a blood drive on Wednesday, Sept. 15th in the Central Dining Hall.  ASC has partnered with the Community Blood Bank of New York and will be competing with the SUNY Fredonia men's basketball team to see what team has the most donors in their location.

Sir Aaron TaylorSir Aaron Taylor (West Chester/Lincoln Hall) has earned the NJCAA Special Teams Player of the Week award following his performance in 魅影直播 State's 22-7 victory over the Apprentice School.  Taylor had previously been named the NFC special teams player of the week.
