Changes have been made to the schedule for ��Ӱֱ�� State College's basketball doubleheader on Tuesday evening.  The men's contest at Genesee CC will be now played at 4 p.m. followed by the women battling at 6 p.m.

Changes were necessary due to the impending forecast of poor weather.

Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) led the ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team with a 2nd place finish in the 149 lb. weight class of the Jamestown Open.

The financial aid staff will assist students and their guests in completing and submitting the 2010-11 FAFSA electronically. The FAFSA is required for all financial aid, including New York State assistance. The financial aid staff will also be available to answer any questions regarding the financial aid process.

Bang, Bang, You’re Dead, written by William Mastrosimone, is strongly based on the events surrounding Kip Kinkel's shootings of his parents on May 20, 1998, and 27 of his classmates at Thurston High School in Springfield, OR, on May 21, 1998.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College indoor track & field team competed at the GaREAT Collegiate Open hosted by Lake Erie College on Saturday.  Tyree Constantine (Binghamton), Isiah Whiting (Camden, CT), and Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) all registered NJCAA National Championship qualifying performances.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team led by as many as 16 in the 1st half but Niagara CCC used a 25-0 run that spanned the last six minutes of the 1st half and a the first five of the 2nd half to rally for a 79-66 victory. 

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team used a 16-4 second half run en route to a 71-66 victory over Niagara CCC on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 11-8 (1-3 Region III Division II) on the season.

Jamestown-Olean connected on eight 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 75-59 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State.  JCC's hot shooting helped them build a 38-28 halftime lead which they never relinquished.

Students enrolled in ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s Sorrento study abroad program recently attended an Internet cineforum (teleconference) with Professor Elinor Ostrom, recipient of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Economics.

Dr. Steve Tyrell, vice president for student affairs at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, has co-authored a publication jointly published by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team earned a 74-54 victory at Jamestown CC on Wednesday evening.  The Lady Pioneers fell 78-30.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team fell 25-16 to Jamestown CC in a WNYAC match on Wednesday evening.  The Pioneers are now 2-7 on the season (1-3 WNYAC).

Erie CC hit 19 out of their 24 foul shots as they defeated ��Ӱֱ�� State 64-55 in a WNYAC match-up at the Flickenger Center on Tuesday. The Lady Pioneers fall to 10-8 on the year (0-3 WNYAC) while the Lady Kats improve to 9-9 (2-1 WNYAC).

#3 Erie CC went on a 22-6 run to start the game en route to a 96-58 victory at the Flickenger Center on Tuesday.  ASC falls to 3-13 (0-4 WNYAC) on the year while ECC improves to 16-1 (5-0 WNYAC).

Continuing the theme of “Imagine,” ��Ӱֱ�� State College President Dr. John M. Anderson recently welcomed faculty and staff at the opening convocation for the spring academic semester. Using “imagine” as the springboard for his vision for the future of the College, Anderson reported on the progress that has been made since the autumn convocation.

David Miller (Elmira Southside) qualified for the NJCAA indoor track & field national championships by winning the pole vault at the Susquehanna University Orange & Maroon Classic.  In total, the Pioneers won four events on the day.

In their first competition in nearly six weeks, the ��Ӱֱ�� State College swimming team dove into 2011 at the Erie CC Invitational.  The men's team finished 3rd out of seven with 192 points while the women were 6th with 29 points.

Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) led the ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team with a 5th place finish at the New York State Championships this weekend at SUNY Binghamton.  ASC finished 17th out of 19 teams in the competition with 16.5 points.

Monroe CC led throughout as they defeated ��Ӱֱ�� State 64-48 in a WNYAC contest Saturday afternoon at the Orvis Activities Center.  MCC improves to 10-7 on the year while ASC falls to 3-12.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team fell 69-66 at Mercyhurst North East in a WNYAC battle that came down to the final seconds.  The Lady Pioneers had three shots in the final moments that rimmed out that would have sent the game into overtime.

Mercyhurst North East outscored ��Ӱֱ�� State 9-2 in the final three minutes of the first half to break a 21-21 en route to a 77-67 WNYAC victory.  ASC is now 3-11 (0-2 WNYAC) on the season while MNE is 10-3 (1-1).

Coach Herman Boone, whose life and leadership inspired the film Remember the Titans, will be addressing student leaders at ��Ӱֱ�� State College as part of the campus-wide Living Your Legacy Leadership Retreat on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 12:45 p.m. in the Orvis Auditorium. This speaking event is open to the community, but all other aspects of the retreat are closed and open only to registered retreat participants.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College indoor track & field team opened up their season with an impressive showing at the RIT Invitational.  The Pioneers had three event winners on the day in competition versus mainly four-year schools.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team returned to action after over a month off and fell 66-50 in their 2011 and WNYAC opener.  ASC led 25-24 at half but was unable to hold the lead.  The Pioneers are now 3-10 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team could not rally all the way back and fell 64-51 to Jamestown CC in their Western New York Athletic Conference opener.  ASC is now 10-6 on the year while JCC, ranked #17 in Division II of the NJCAA, improves to 16-3.

“I worked for ACES catering when I was in college and over the summer and I knew that they sometimes used edible flowers for their dishes. I approached Bron Norasethaporn, the catering manager, to see if he would be willing to buy flowers from me,” Kacalski said.

The Llewellyn Art Gallery will present the work of sculptor Glenn Zweygardt from Jan. 17 through Feb.25. The Llewellyn Gallery is located in the Engineering Technology Building, room 312. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team fell 74-69 to a hot shooting Medaille JV squad in their 2011 opener.  The Lady Pioneers head into WNYAC play with a 10-5 mark.

In this new position, Hall provides operational and programmatic support for the day-to-day activities of the President’s Office in addition to overseeing special projects. She engages in extensive interaction with all levels of internal and external campus constituencies, including College Council.
