Five members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team finished in the top three of their weight class as the Pioneers finished 3rd at the 2011 Northeast District Championships.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team finished the 2011 Northeast District/Region III Championships in 5th place out of eight teams while the two Lady Pioneers that competed earned 9th place.

Brett Harrington (Rochester/Edison) and Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) registered NJCAA Division I National Championships qualifying performances on Saturday at the Kane Invitational at Cornell University.

Erie CC shot 60.7% and scored 46 second half points to break open a three-point halftime lead in a 85-67 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State on Saturday.  The #6 ranked Kats improve to 22-2 (11-1 WNYAC) while ASC falls to 4-21.

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) and Amie Brooks (Pavilion) had big days as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team downed Erie CC 73-52.  The win evens the Lady Pioners record at 12-12 (2-6 RIII DII) while the Kats fall to 9-14 (2-6 RIII DII).

This session features a lineup of professionals within the renewable energy fields of PV (solar electric), wind energy, solar thermal, geothermal, and energy conservation and weatherization will speak on the basic terminology and considerations homeowners and business owners need to know.

The off-campus program, managed by Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services (ACES), is a partnership between the college and area businesses. This is the third year of the program and Applebee’s and Surfside Tan are the 11^th and 12^th vendors to join.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team had seven players score at least nine points as they downed Medaille College JV 85-65 on Wednesday evening.  The Pioneers are now 4-20 on the season.

“We’re excited that we have been of service to our student customers for all these years,” said Stephen Schnorr, ACES executive director. “We’ve been around so long that that we are looking for the grandchildren of some of our first customers to come to ��Ӱֱ�� State.”

Sir Aaron Taylor (West Chester/Lincoln Hall) will continue his academic and athletic collegiate career at Youngstown State.  Taylor a second team NJCAA All-American is the third Pioneer in the past ten years to sign with the Penguins.

��Ӱֱ�� State College led for nearly 38 minutes of their contest versus Mercyhurst North East but the Saints were able to rally late in the 2nd half for a 64-60 victory.  The Saints improve to 16-5 (7-3 WNYAC) while the Pioneers are now 3-20 (0-10 WNYAC).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team shot just 16% in the 1st half and were never able to recover in a 59-49 loss to Mercyhurst North East.  The Lady Saints are now 11-8, 6-2 Region III Division II while ASC falls to 11-12, 1-6 RIII DII.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team could not hold on to a 2nd half lead as they fell 77-76 to Ithaca College JV on Monday night. 

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College indoor track & field team was one of over 30 teams that competed on Saturday at the 12th annual DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University.  Byron Jones (Niagara Falls) and David Miller (Elmira Southside) both recorded 2nd place finishes to lead the way

Monroe CC connected on 16-three pointers and shot 51% for the game as they downed ��Ӱֱ�� State 108-70 on Saturday.  MCC is now 15-7, (7-1 WNYAC) while ASC is 3-18 (0-9 WNYAC).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team fell to NJCAA Division I Monroe CC 95-31 on Saturday afternoon. The loss evens the Lady Pioneers record to 11-11 while the Tribunes are now 14-6.

The architectural design competition, held by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA), is open to students of architecture currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program. This year’s project was to design a building to house a Classroom of the Future on a site in Tennessee utilizing tilt-up concrete construction.

Nearly 1,000 BOCES students, their advisers, observers, parents, and guests from Western New York counties, including Allegany, Steuben, Monroe, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Cattaraugus, and Ontario, will converge on the ��Ӱֱ�� State College (462 student competitors) campus and the ASC School of Applied Technology (271 student competitors) campus, Wellsville, where they will compete in their areas of study.

Saturday afternoon's wrestling match at Niagara CCC has been canceled.  ��Ӱֱ�� State has had the injury bug hit them and will rest up until the Northeast District/Region III Championships on February 13th at Springfield Tech

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men’s basketball team led for the first 32 minutes of the game but Jamestown CC tied it and outscored the Pioneers 20-16 in the final eight minutes to earn a 69-65 victory. 

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women’s basketball team never could get much going as they fell 66-43 to Jamestown CC on Thursday.  ASC falls to 11-10 on the year while JCC improves to 20-5.

Despite the cold of a recent January evening, ��Ӱֱ�� State College community members and guests were aglow with good cheer during the grand re-opening of three of the college’s recently remodeled residence halls: Main Gate A, and Main Gate B.

��Ӱֱ�� State College freshman guard Amie Brooks (Pavilion) took some time to answer some questions from the ASC Sports Information Department.  Brooks leads the Lady Pioneers in scoring thus far during the 2010-11 season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling match versus Mercyhurst North East scheduled for tonight (Wed. 2/3) has been canceled and will not be made up.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team will host a Kids' Night Out program three Saturday's in February.  Kids' Night Out will take place Feb. 5, 12, and 26 at the Orvis Activities Center from 5:30 p.m. until  8 p.m.

��Ӱֱ�� State College quarterback Cody Scepaniak (Vestal) has signed and is enrolled this spring at Northern Michigan University.  Scepaniak will compete for the starting quarterback job this spring and fall for the Wildcats.

Genesee CC connected on seven 3-pointers as they rode their hot shooting to a 100-69 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 11-9 (1-4 WNYAC) on the season.

An undermanned ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team gave Genesee CC all they could handle on Tuesday night.  The eight Pioneers that dressed trailed by only five at half but could never gain the lead in the second half and fell 85-74.

Due to inclement weather conditions, ��Ӱֱ�� State College classes are delayed today, Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, until Noon.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s WINS Club (Women in Non-traditional Studies--though membership is open to all students) recently conducted its annual fund raiser to buy presents for a local family sponsored by Steuben Rural Ministry of Canisteo. Clothing donations and household items were also received from the ��Ӱֱ�� State community.
