The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team downed Finger Lakes CC 62-54 as they took the court for the first time in ten days.  The Pioneers are now 5-5 on the year.

Playing for the first time in ten days, the ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team dropped a 62-61 battle at Finger Lakes CC.  The Lady Pioneers are now 6-3 on the season.

After working closely with local STIHL dealer, Auto Specialized in Arkport, the Pioneer Woodsmen’s Club received the sponsorship and a check for $2,500 from STIHL. STIHL is well-known for its nationwide support of professional and collegiate timber sports. The Pioneer Woodsmen look forward to representing ��Ӱֱ�� State and STIHL with vigor!

Two $3,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2011-12 academic year to help provide more qualified, well-trained technicians to meet the labor needs of the growing propane industry, particularly in upstate New York.

Hornell City Court Judge Honors Program at ��Ӱֱ�� State College late last month to discuss the judge’s role in the court system. Damrath, a professor of law at the college, outlined technicalities of the laws that often govern the judge

The Pioneer Woodsmen were invited to scrimmage with the Finger Lakes Woodsmen and were able to send two teams: a Men’s 1 (equivalent of a varsity team) and a Men’s 2 (equivalent of a junior varsity squad). Pioneer Woodsmen teams competed against three Finger Lakes teams and took first and second places overall!

Honors Program members and other guests earlier this semester to explain the uses of forensic entomology to help solve criminal cases.

This event began as an opportunity for international students to share part of their culture through the medium of food. The evening diners were delighted to try food from China, Japan, France, Trinidad Tobago, Brazil, Russia, and Puerto Rico.

Students enrolled in the culinary arts programs at the School of Applied Technology of ��Ӱֱ�� State College will prepare a holiday buffet on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 5-7 p.m. in the student dining hall of the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus. Cost is $16 (all inclusive) per person. Children under 10 can eat for $7. Proceeds benefit the Top Hat Scholarship Fund.

��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball players Garrett Hoag (Dansville) and Dylan Dunn (Hornell) have been named honorable mention All-WNYAC. 

The Building Trades Department and his students will present "Restoration after Katrina; ASC Wellsville Volunteers Keeping On."

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team shot shot 28.1% from the field in the 1st half and fell behind 37-21 to Fulton Montgomery CC and could never recover.  FMCC went on to win the ASC Tournament championship with a 80-70 victory.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team couldn't get firing on all cylinders and fell 75-56 to Fulton Montgomery CC in day two of the ��Ӱֱ�� State Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 6-2 on the year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team won the Herkimer CCC Fall Invitational on Saturday while the women's team finished 5th.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team outscored Northern Essex CC 22-5 in the first nine minutes of the contest en route to a 71-59 victory in the 1st round of the ASC Tournament.  The Pioneers will take on Fulton Montgomery CC in the championship game tomorrow.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team could never recover from a big run in the 1st half as they fell 72-60 to Hagerstown CC in the opening day of the ASC Tournament.  Hagerstown used a 12-0 run midway through the 1st half to grab the lead and never looked back.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's cross country racked up numerous awards as they raced to the NJCAA Division III National title.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team improved to 4-0 in WNYAC action with victories over Mercyhurst North East, 73-9, and Erie CC, 78-0, on Wednesday evening.  In women's action, ASC defeated MNE 26-15 but fell 25-24 to ECC.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team traveled to Mercyhurst North East and fell 40-12 in a WNYAC contest.  The Pioneers fall to 0-2 in dual matches while MNE is 1-1 on the season.

Football player Colter Johnson (Warren, PA) has been named the NJCAA Special Teams Player of the Week following the Pioneers 26-20 victory over Erie CC on Saturday.  Johnson is the second Pioneer player to be honored by NJCAA this season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team led for 39 and a half minutes but Corning CC used a big 2nd half run to earn a 76-74 victory.  Corning took their only lead of the game 74-73 with 27 seconds remaining.

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) and Amie Brooks (Pavilion) combined for 52 points as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball continued their fast start to the 2011-12 season with a 71-66 win over Corning CC.  The Lady Pioneers are now 6-0 on the year.

Six members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's soccer team have been honored by the WNYAC.  Holli Pierce (Livonia), Jenna Lynn (York), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were 1st team selections while Lacee Pearl (Olean) and Danielle Henry (Arkport) were 2nd team.

Four members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's soccer team have been named to the All-WNYAC second team.  CJ Reynolds (East Rochester), Peter Dezio (East Rochester), Nick Peraino (Geneseo) and Tim Randall (Churchville Chili) helped the Pioneers to a 5-9-1 season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College freshman forward Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) and sophomore football player Colter Johnson (Warren, PA) have been named the ASC Athletes of the Week by the SID office.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore football player Anthony Turner (Syracuse/Corcoran) has been named the Region III Athlete of the Week.  Turner led the Pioneers defense as they defeated Erie CC 26-20 to claim the Region III Championship.

As part of the exhibit, ��Ӱֱ�� State College has included the story of one of its own, US Army veteran Joe Greenthal, ASC Class of 2009, payment services assistant at ASC, whose story is included among the permanent stories in the collection.

MacCrea, a project engineer at Dresser-Rand, Wellsville, spoke to students from the Computer Imaging and Architectural Engineering Technology Department about what her job entails, her pursuit of continued education, what is expected in the field, and which courses and college activities could help grads in their jobs.

Twenty-one ��Ӱֱ�� State College students were inducted recently into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national Honor Society for two-year colleges. Friends and family of the inductees attended the evening ceremony in the Allegany Room on the ��Ӱֱ�� State campus.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College football team claimed the Region III Championship for the 1st time in school history with a 26-20 victory over Erie CC in Orchard Park.  The Pioneers withstood a late 4th quarter rally by the Kats and finish the 2011 season with a 6-4 record.
