As part of the competition, the ��Ӱֱ�� State team developed a solution paper containing a detailed analysis of conference realignment in college athletics and presented their findings and recommendations to a panel of expert judges in Chapel Hill.

The NCAA Division III Management Council announced today that ��Ӱֱ�� State has been accepted as provisional members. The announcement moves ��Ӱֱ�� State into NCAA DIII competition starting in the 2013-14 school year.

Student displays from six local school districts (Prattsburgh, Hinsdale, Addison, Andover, Canaseraga, Homeschool) were judged at ��Ӱֱ�� State’s 14th Annual Regional Science and Technology Fair.

��Ӱֱ�� State’s School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, hosted the 15^th annual New York State Postsecondary (college level) SkillsUSA competition on Saturday, April 6. Winners will compete in the National SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City in June.

A Children’s Literature exhibit is currently on display at the Hinkle Memorial Library Gallery on the ��Ӱֱ�� State campus through May 5.

��Ӱֱ�� State, in partnership with ��Ӱֱ�� University and ��Ӱֱ�� residents, has announced a week-long series of events planned in celebration of Earth Day. The events, which begin on Sunday, April 21 and run through Sunday, April 28, include movie showings, service opportunities, outdoor activities, and social functions.

��Ӱֱ�� State is pleased to present the 62^nd Annual Alumni Choral Spring Concert, directed by Anthony Cappadonia, professor emeritus of music at ��Ӱֱ�� State. The concert will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the Anthony C. Cappadonia Auditorium, Orvis Activities Center, on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus, and is free of charge and open to the public.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State Jazz Band and ��Ӱֱ�� State “Voices” will present a shared spring concert on Sunday, April 21 at 2 p.m. in the Cappadonia Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

"New Voices: A Showcase of One Acts" is a collaboration between Hornell Community Theatre and ��Ӱֱ�� State Drama Club to encourage people interested in theater to try new roles. Five short one-acts are being produced as a show to allow individuals from the greater Hornell community and ��Ӱֱ�� State to try their hand at directing, acting, script writing, or other creative aspects of theater.

Dr. Richard Kellogg, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at ��Ӱֱ�� State, is the author of a new book titled BARRY BASKERVILLE SOLVES A CASE. The children's story, beautifully illustrated by graphic artist Gary Kato, is about a precocious youngster who aspires to become a famous detective like his role-model Sherlock Holmes.

��Ӱֱ�� State’s Dining Services Taco Bell location has been rated #1 nationwide in Taco Bell’s Voice of the Customer Program. The Taco Bell operation on campus is managed by Michael Murray of Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services, Inc.

Eight students at ��Ӱֱ�� State were recently inducted into the Psi Beta honor society, an organization which promotes interest in the study of psychology at two-year colleges.

��Ӱֱ�� University and ��Ӱֱ�� State are co-sponsoring a two-day visit to the community and campuses by scholar/lecturer Dr. Donald B. Kraybill, internationally recognized for his work on Anabaptist (radical movement of the 16th-century Reformation that viewed baptism solely as an external witness to a believer's conscious profession of faith, rejected infant baptism, and believed in the separation of church from state, the shunning of non-believers, and in simplicity of life) groups.

Valerie Nixon named interim president of ��Ӱֱ�� State, Deborah Goodrich named interim vice president for Administration and Enrollment, and Kandi Geibel named interim director of Admissions.
