Course work in these majors will cover the breadth of interactive design from AAA (triple A) game titles to the interactions of application interfaces. Skills developed are applicable to the growing fields of user experience (UX) design, application design, web design, data visualization, and interactive entertainment.

As 2018 comes to a close, ��Ӱֱ�� State College is taking a look back at some of its biggest stories from the year, from the introduction of a new logo and mascot, to completion of the first phase of the MacKenzie Makeover, and more. 

Recently, Lt. Kris Bianchi and Communications Specialist Jaime Howe led an effort that raised more than $300 for the ACCORD Community Action Angels program, which helps community members in need of housewares, school supplies, personal care items, and holiday assistance.

Led by Captain Danielle Verplank, business administration, Marion, the team earned a total of nine ribbons, while showing at Cornell University (twice), Rochester Institute of Technology, and Nazareth College. 

Named the “De-Stress Fest,” this event took place in the Student Leadership Center and featured a number of festivities, including live music by Residence Director Rob Privitera, a free hot chocolate bar, therapy dogs from Therapy Dogs International, Legos, bracelet-making, free food, free T-shirts, and much more.

Students in ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s heavy equipment: truck and diesel technician program are now able to take their applied learning to the next level thanks to a recent bus donation by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA). 

More than a dozen ��Ӱֱ�� State College students recently became members of the National Society of Leadership and Success during an induction ceremony held in the Orvis Activities Center Auditorium.

The Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) recently welcomed ��Ӱֱ�� State College as its 59th student chapter.

“I would not have wanted to spend my birthday any other way,” she said. “I got to see the former first lady in person! Not many can say that.”

Classes for this unique new associate degree program, titled agricultural automation and robotics, will begin in the fall 2019. Students in this major, the only one of its kind in the US, will receive hands-on experience with automated milking equipment, as well as class work in both agriculture and engineering.

Dr. Edward Tezak, a SUNY distinguished service professor emeritus of ��Ӱֱ�� State College, was recently presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles.

This program is set to take place July 13 through Aug. 9 at ��Ӱֱ�� State and is open to students in grades eight through 12 throughout New York State.

Showcasing their holiday spirit along with their baking and decorating skills, ��Ӱֱ�� State College students took first and third place in the College category in the annual Niagara Falls Culinary Institute Gingerbread Competition. 

��Ӱֱ�� State College is helping students at Burgard High School in Buffalo get an early start on both college and their advanced manufacturing careers.

As of the time this article was written, 986 donors had contributed a total of $158,403 in cash and pledges.
