��Ӱֱ�� State College would like to recognize its faculty and staff members who have recently retired.

After years of leading ��Ӱֱ�� State’s veterinary technology program, Dr. Melvin Chambliss is excited to begin a new role with the college as the chief diversity officer of its police academy.

��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) faculty members are back on campus and teaching in person for the first time since early March.

Congratulations to Thressa Cody, Jennifer Chiaino, Jaime Dennis-Howe, Jack Jones, Laura Kernan, Louis O’Dell, Philip Schroeder, Danielle White, Mary Ellen Wood, and Louis Zver for their years of service at the college.

Congratulations to Dale Burns, William Dean, Wendy Dresser-Recktenwald, Nancy Driscoll, Constance Ehmann, Jerry Jusianiec, Andrew Nelson, Steven Reynolds, and Randall Woodworth.

“With the addition of pool testing happening as soon as next week, multiple analyzers, and imminent rapid testing capacity on campus, we have even more resources at our disposal,” said ��Ӱֱ�� State President Dr. Skip Sullivan.

Haskins has been an integral part of the Student Success team at ��Ӱֱ�� State College for a number of years and her advocacy for the populations she serves has had a positive impact on countless students’ lives.

The KOS Inc. team led by Joe Karpinksi took home the title in ��Ӱֱ�� State College's 2020 Pioneers Drive for the Development Fund Golf Tournament played recently at the Wellsville Country Club. 

So far, this year’s police academy has gone very well and has received a lot of positive feedback, according to Session Director and Chief of the University Police Department at ��Ӱֱ�� State Scott Richardson.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College Council has announced its meeting dates for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Week of Welcome is the lead-up week dedicated to orienting new students to the campus events, clubs and organizations, and culture. This year’s Week of Welcome is taking place Aug. 15-23.

John Garippa received a college chair and a certificate to commemorate the occasion.

At ��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC), these minimum standards set by the US Department of Education are met and exceeded, as ASC staff remain committed to ensuring justice, equality, and fairness on campus.

��Ӱֱ�� State would like to recognize the following employees for their 30 years of service at the college:

Dr. Craig Clark, Rebecca Comer, Gordon Cook, William Laubert, and Kathryn Markel.

This grant will be used to support the expansion of ASC’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) program.

Maureen Sibble, a senior career planning and development associate at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, has recently fulfilled the requirements necessary to become a Certified Master of Career Services (CMCS).

Shedding some light on the meaning of Pioneer Strong, Sullivan said, “It may mean many different things. I turn to the mission and vision of this college and the legacy of over 100 years of graduating successful students.” 

��Ӱֱ�� State would like to recognize Automotive Trades Professor Michael Ronan and Technology Services Information Technology Assistant Paula Nichols for their 35 years of service to the college.

��Ӱֱ�� State recently honored three employees with the college’s Pioneer Award.

With in-person instruction set to resume for all students in just a few weeks, ��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) has recently begun welcoming some Pioneers back to campus. 

The Presidents' Council of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) recently met and postponed conference competition during the fall 2020 semester. ��Ӱֱ�� State is working to provide opportunities including practices and limited competitions for Pioneer student-athletes this fall.

Business Department Assistant Professor Danielle Green received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service, while Chief Diversity Officer and Title IX Coordinator Nikkie Herman was honored with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. Nursing Department Co-Chair and Assistant Professor Jessica Lippa was named the recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, while Business Affairs Accountant Aide Mary Monroe received the Chancellor’s Award for Classified Service.
