Pioneers can't rally all the way back

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's basketball team couldn't rally from a 10-point halftime and fell for the first time in the 2007-08 season 72-64 to Lakeland (OH) CC.  The Lakers improve to 3-1 while the Pioneers fall to 4-1.

Lady Pioneers drop heartbreaker

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State's 13 to 2 run in the final four minutes fell just short as the Lady Pioneers fell 55-54 to Lakeland (OH) CC on Sunday afternoon.  A-State trailed 53-41 with 3:55 remaining before going on their run to close within one.  ASC falls to 1-2 on the year while Lakeland improves to 4-0 (all wins versus WNYAC competition).

Five Football Players honored by NFC

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College football team had five players honored by being named All-Northeast Football Conference.  Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury), John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ), and Calvin Corbin (Winslow, NJ) were named to the 1st team while Vince DiMarco (Webster Thomas) and Nick Monroe (Irondequoit) were named 2nd team.

Three Lady Pioneers named All-WNYAC

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's soccer players Brittany Hannah (Eastridge), Jody Ninos (÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Almond), and Kaila Smith (÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Almond) have been honored by being named All-WNYAC.  Hannah and Ninos were 1st team selections while Smith was named to the 2nd team.

Five Men's Soccer Players named All-WNYAC

Five members of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's soccer team have been honored by being named All-Western New York Athletic Conference.  Tyler Paulsen (Letchworth), Dustin Falkner (Letchworth), and Dominic Bisone (N. Tonwanda) were named to the first team while Hiroshi Ozaki (Tokyo, Japan) and Ryan Neal (St. Mary's, PA) were named to the second team.

Men's Cross Country finishes 10th

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's cross country team registered another top ten finish at Saturday's NJCAA Division III National Championship.  The Pioneers finished 10th out of 18 teams at the 8k race held at Sunken Meadow State Park in Selden, NY.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's basketball team had four players finish in double-figures as they improved to 4-0 on the year with a 66-54 victory over Corning CC.  The Red Barons fall to 2-2 on the year.

Lady Pioneers down Corning

Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) and Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) led the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's basketball team to a 70-57 victory over Corning CC on Thursday night in the Lady Pioneers home opener.  A-State evens up their record at 1-1 on the young season while Corning is now 2-2.

Williamson Named All-Region

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomore Zak Williamson (Rocky Point) has ran his way to 1st team All-Region honors.  Williamson led the Pioneers to a 4th place finish at the Region III Championships and will lead the men's team in this weekend's NJCAA Division III Championship.

A-State falls to Mercyhurst

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College wrestling team couldn't climb out of an early hole and fell in their season opening dual match 30-12 to Mercyhurst North East.
