Dr. Nicholas L. Waddy, associate professor of History at ��Ӱֱ�� State, has published his first novel, Jewel of the East, which is described as “a moving, masterful work of historical fiction, full of vivid characters, intense action, exotic settings, heartwarming romance, and wry humor.”

��Ӱֱ�� State’s Lake Lodge.The workshop will explore “Current Trends in Substance Abuse” with an emphasis on the resurgence of heroin use as well as synthetic marijuana and bath salts.

Dedicated to challenging the status quo in order to support the college’s focus on the environment, this fall, the dining team at ��Ӱֱ�� State introduced two new processes that will positively impact the campus’s footprint—incorporating technologies like compostable packaging and reusable takeout containers.

On Sept. 27, 2013, a group of students, faculty, staff, local business leaders, and government officials looked on as ��Ӱֱ�� State Interim President Valerie Nixon finally cut the ribbon on the newest addition to the ��Ӱֱ�� campus—the Student Leadership Center.

The forum will be held in the Small Events Room of the Student Leadership Center (SLC 310) on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 7 p.m. An open conversation will follow Rezak’s prepared remarks. The public is invited to attend free of charge.

��Ӱֱ�� State has been designated an official military friendly school by top-rated publisher Victory Media and . ��Ӱֱ�� State is one of just 36 SUNY schools awarded the honor.

Their trip—from Sept. 22 to 29—starts in Longmont, Colorado, and ends in Riverside, California.

��Ӱֱ�� State is moving on up in the U.S. News and World Report’s annual Best Colleges rankings—now 17 (up from 23) among top regional colleges and universities in the North. The college has also earned a fifth place ranking among top public schools in the North.

On August 15, 2013, the ��Ӱֱ�� community welcomed Les Kachurek, a 23-year veteran of the City of Niagara Falls Police Department, as the new chief of police for the University Police Department, which coordinates law enforcement on the ��Ӱֱ�� State campus.

On August 14, 2013, WETD 90.7 FM moved their Main Studio to ��Ӱֱ�� State's new $33 million Student Leadership Center after submitting a letter of notification to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).
