Allegany County Community Action Day, Aug. 28

��Ӱֱ�� State College is partnering with several Allegany County human services agencies to conduct an Allegany County Community Action Day, Saturday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The day is intended to coordinate volunteer groups and individuals to engage in meaningful, high-impact service projects in the ��Ӱֱ�� and Wellsville communities; connect with neighbors, students, and fellow community members while making a difference; and build relationships with local non-profit agencies while actively supporting their missions. Kellogg Authors in Most Recent Issue of PAPERBACK PARADE

Dr. Richard Kellogg, professor of psychology at ��Ӱֱ�� State College, is the author of an article appearing in the most recent issue of PAPERBACK PARADE, a quarterly magazine published by Gryphon Books of New York. Titled “Philip Wylie’s Nuclear Nightmare,” the article states that writer Philip Wylie (1902-1971) was an expert on nuclear energy who wrote extensively about the perils of a global atomic war. ASC Students Volunteer in Haiti

Dr. Douglas Pierson, (VMD) ��Ӱֱ�� State College assistant professor, Agriculture and Veterinary Technology Department, who previously lived and worked as a veterinary field worker in Haiti as part of Christian Veterinary Mission before joining ASC, coordinated a relief trip to Haiti after commencement.
