September 11: Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance

On Sept. 11, 2001, almost 3,000 people lost their lives during the attacks at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93. Twenty-two years later, ��Ӱֱ�� State continues to honor these victims and their families. We also remember the heroic efforts of first responders who endangered their lives answering the call.

Former ASC College Council Chair Pat Fogarty passes away

Former ASC President Dr. John O. Hunter passes away

He started the groundwork of what we are today with the development of bachelor’s degree programs and the building of the Student Development Center, which is so appropriately named after him. On June 19, 1865, enslaved Americans in Texas were told they were free. Juneteenth, a celebration of this event, has long been celebrated by the African American community and was signed into law in 2021.
