A silent auction of all the marionettes is held daily in the gallery from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Proceeds from the auction will go toward purchasing equipment for digital media and animation students.

“��Ӱֱ�� State has been competing at the NECCDC since 2010 and was the only team that did not have graduate students, so a third-place finish is a remarkable accomplishment and further proves that ��Ӱֱ�� State offers a top-tier cybersecurity and information technology education program,” said Coach Jim Boardman, assistant professor and chair of the Computer and Information Technology Department.

The event drew a large crowd of students and faculty who came to see Harfmann discuss his recent work in a lecture titled "Forays in Building Information Modeling." Harfmann spoke about some of his recent student projects and the renovation of a building on the University of Cincinnati campus by noted architect Peter Eisenman.

Nearly 150 high school students from five area school districts visited ��Ӱֱ�� State Friday to discover the exciting worlds of engineering and technology as part of National Engineers Week.

Eight architecture students from ��Ӱֱ�� State presented at the annual Appalachian Teaching Project (ATP) conference at the end of the fall semester in Washington, DC.

The decoration, made of exterior plywood, is currently in front of the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce building, 114 N. Main St. in Wellsville. Students in the college’s building construction program built the Santa Claus and students in the digital media and animation program painted it.

“Our students made an impressive showing,” said Tim Piotrowski, an ��Ӱֱ�� State associate professor of civil engineering technology, who accompanied the students on their trip. “These were real-world simulations with real-world deadlines and all the associated stress. But our students excel at those types of challenges.”

The honor began in 2012 and is named for Bob Pahl, a Boston-area architect, who graduated from ��Ӱֱ�� State in 1981 with a degree in architectural engineering technology. Pahl donated the first- and second-place prizes, which were presented this year to Taquon Middleton, of Brooklyn, who received $800, and Kara Anderson, of Ontario, who received $200.

The STAR Center is a collaboration of two organizations in the department: the Architecture Club and the Interior Design Club, which, through the promotion of sound design and planning principles, seek to enhance the local built environment.
