More than 25 ��Ӱֱ�� State and ��Ӱֱ�� University students headed to California Saturday, Sept. 26, to compete in the 2015 US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon.

Three teams headed from the ��Ӱֱ�� State School of Applied Technology campus in Wellsville to Connecticut Thursday for the annual Fireball Run event.

Dr. Nadine Hoover met with members of the Honors Program at ��Ӱֱ�� State Sept. 10 to discuss her 35 years of working for peace in war-torn countries around the world.

Hundreds of first- and second-grade students from area schools toured ��Ӱֱ�� State’s 800-acre farm Thursday, Sept. 17, during Kiddie Ag Day.

Sponsored by ��Ӱֱ�� State, TDG Wood Products, LTD will manufacture a new line of micro/micron cooking wood chips under the brand name SmokinLicious® Gourmet Wood Products. The cooking wood chips will be new products and trademarked as Minuto and Piccolo Chips, respectively.

Headquartered out of Colorado State University, the honor society was funded by an ACE/Wal-Mart Foundation Success for Veterans Grant. SALUTE is the first national honor society established for student veterans and military in two-year and four-year institutions of higher education.

For the ninth consecutive year, ��Ӱֱ�� State has made the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings, tying for 19th among the top regional colleges in the North for 2016, up from 22nd a year ago.

��Ӱֱ�� State recently welcomed more than 30 new faculty and staff members.

Taking part in the Semester in the South this year are Brock Delgato, of Clarence; Kyle Parish, of Buffalo; James Friedeborn, of Ithaca; Jake Baran, of Clarence; Brian Mitchell, of Derby; Kevin Rogers, of Frewsburg; Kayla Miller, of Bronx; and Cody Marvin, of Bath.

Pat Fogarty, College Council chair, told students, “There is more that you can do here than I could ever think of mentioning, but please, please get involved. My message is very simple: Join. Be doers. Go outside of yourself. Push the envelope. And then, you will be what ��Ӱֱ�� State is all about: Pioneers.”
