��Ӱֱ�� State’s Cory Bennett, Lois Curran, Frank Smith, and Joy Williams were honored with Pioneer Awards at the annual Recognition Celebration.

Justin Dix, an instructor in the electrical construction and maintenance electrician program, and Jon Nickerson, director of facilities, were the recipients of the Leadership through Civic Engagement award.

“We are excited to welcome back alumni for a fun-filled weekend. Not only will attendees get the opportunity to stay at the renovated MacKenzie Complex, they will be able to join the community as we celebrate the only traffic light in town on its birthday.”

Lynda Merring, George Merry, Julie Rose, and Erin Vitale were honored for earning SUNY Chancellor Awards at the annual ��Ӱֱ�� State Employee Recognition Celebration.

Celebrate ��Ӱֱ�� on Saturday, June 8 at 6 p.m. for THE Traffic Light Festival. 

��Ӱֱ�� is small enough that only one intersection needs a traffic light. However, ��Ӱֱ�� makes a big name for itself attracting such a high concentration of students that the Washington Post named picture-perfect ��Ӱֱ�� the #1 Ultimate College Town in the US.

I ask the ��Ӱֱ�� State community to take a moment to reflect on the individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“Over 50 years of service, her dedication and skills are examples for other professors to follow. All of us benefit from her caring spirit. She truly cares for the emotional health, academic achievement, and wellbeing of each Pioneer who has been lucky enough to be in her class.”

“Weather played a role with archers needing to adapt to changing temperature, precipitation, intermittent wind, and even unexpected night shooting. The team stayed focused with each change.”

“The Power Wagon gets so much attention. We hope to move from Kentucky to Maine with minimal problems. The students this year focused on getting the truck back together. We really built it to make it reliable. It has to drive 2,300 miles all the way up the east coast.”

“I know it has been a long journey for us all, but we made it, we graduated. With this we all start a new chapter in our journey. Don’t forget that you didn’t go to school and get the degree you have now for your friends, you got this degree and committed to all that hard work for yourself.”
