Six members of ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's staff were honored with the SUNY (State University of New York) Chancellor's Award for Excellence this spring.

Several ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College faculty and staff members were honored recently as recipients of the Pioneer Award which recognizes those members of the organization who demonstrate the following characteristics: commitment to the mission and goals of the college, meaningful and measurable positive impact on the college, role modeling, and a high level of performance.

Recent promotions at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College were announced at the annual recognition luncheon at the end of the spring semester.

Samantha VanCassele, a second-grader at Immaculate Conception School (ICS), Wellsville, hosted a birthday party to celebrate her eight years on the planet. But, manifesting a maturity beyond those eight years, Samantha requested that in lieu of gifts, her friends make a contribution to Backpack Buddies.

Robert Albrecht, State University of New York (SUNY) distinguished teaching professor, English and Humanities, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, was honored recently for his 40 years of service at the college.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College nursing students celebrated their accomplishments the night before commencement by attending the annual nurses' pinning ceremony.

Seven professional chefs from the Buffalo and Rochester areas recently adjudicated the 30th annual Culinary Arts Exposition at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's School of Applied Technology, Wellsville.

Culinary arts and culinary arts/baking, production and management students at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College competed in the 30th annual Culinary Arts Exposition, which featured an exhibit of Epicurean delights, earlier this spring.

For only the fourth time in college history, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State presented an honorary doctorate to alumnus Wayne W. Wagner, class of 1960, president and CEO, Birkett Mills, Penn Yan.

Hundreds of local school children and their teachers attended ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's annual Kiddie Ag Day celebration sponsored by the faculty, staff, and agriculture students at the college.

Chosen this year for the Freshman Advocate of the Year Award, presented at the ceremony, and sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs, was Sarah Spencer, instructional support assistant, The Learning Center, herself a "freshman" at the college.
