The ��Ӱֱ�� State College indoor track & field team had a strong showing at the Syracuse University Invitational on Saturday.  The Pioneers competed versus a field that featured Division I and Division III competition.

Trailing by 16 points with 12 minutes left, the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team rallied to within three but were unable to capitalize on a few chances in the final minute and fell 77-72 to Mercyhurst North East.  ASC is now 10-14 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

The Mercyhurst North East women's basketball team built a 23-point halftime lead en route to a 77-63 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 10-11 overall and 1-5 in WNYAC play.

��Ӱֱ�� State College is pleased to announce new members to the campus community. Recently hired are Sean Haggerty, Mark Kanellis, and Danielle White.

��Ӱֱ�� State College and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), a non-academic honor society consisting of the top 1% of student leaders, announces the winners of January’s “Of The Month” (OTM) Awards.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College Drama Club will present the play Extremities, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 19 and 20, at 7 p.m. in the Orvis Auditorium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus. The play is open to the public free of charge; no tickets are necessary. The play is rated “R” for strong sexual situations, language, and violence, and is not be suitable for children under 17.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team connected on 11 three-pointers as they snapped a four game losing streak with a 86-65 victory over JCC Olean.  The Pioneers hit 11 out of 22 three pointers (7 for 12 in the first half) on the game.

Rod Streater (Burlington, NJ) has been enrolled at Temple University since January but made it official that he was a member of the Owl football team on Wednesday during signing day.  Streater is one of 27 players to sign a national letter of intent with Temple.

In a grand gesture of gratitude, the Chinese government hosted a group of 24 SUNY (State University of New York) officials—including ��Ӱֱ�� State President Dr. John M. The ��Ӱֱ�� State College Wrestling team rallied from a 24-13 deficit with victories in the final three matches to earn a 28-24 win over Mercyhurst North East.  The Pioneers improve to 2-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 in WNYAC action.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College Nursing program continued its “Pay It Forward” philosophy through the awarding of its fourth annual round of “Pay It Forward” scholarships,

Students enrolled in the culinary arts programs at ��Ӱֱ�� State College will prepare a Mardi Gras celebration, featuring a New Orleans-style menu, on Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 5-7 p.m., in the student cafeteria of the Culinary Arts Building on the Wellsville campus.

Nearly 1,000 BOCES students, their advisers, observers, parents, and guests from Western New York counties, including Allegany, Steuben, Monroe, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Cattaraugus, and Ontario, will converge on the ��Ӱֱ�� State College (456 student competitors) campus and the ASC School of Applied Technology (287 student competitors) campus, Wellsville, where they will compete in their areas of study.

Cody Dill (Unatego) and Taylor Nelson (Somers) earned 3rd place finishes as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team competed at the Jamestown CC Open on Saturday.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College swimming team finished up their regular season on Saturday at the Genesee CC Winter Classic.  The unscored meet gave the team one last chance to improve on their times heading into the District Championship February 12-14.
