Approximately 900 students from Region I BOCES (Board of Cooperative Education and Services) districts encompassing Western New York and the Southern Tier, competed in the 21st annual SkillsUSA-Region I Leadership Conference and Skills Olympics, (formerly VICA--Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) held in March at ��Ӱֱ�� State College.

The 11^thannual ��Ӱֱ�� State College Regional Science and Technology Fair and the 2^nd annual ASC Technology Challenge will be held concurrently on Friday, April 9, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center gymnasium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX) has been named to the second team of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York All-NYS Junior College team.  Earlier in the year, Wilson was named 1st team All-Region and 1st team All-WNYAC.

The Open House program, Sunday, April 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Orvis Activities Center on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team split their first northern doubleheader on Sunday versus Lackawanna College.  The Pioneers, 7-6 on the season, won the opener 12-7 but fell 4-0 in the nightcap.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team came out of the gate slow and was never able to fully recover and fell to #6 Herkimer CCC 21-11 in their 2010 home opener.  ASC falls to 1-3 (1-1 Region III) on the season while HCCC improves to 3-0.

The 2010 outdoor track & field season opener at Erie CC (Orchard Park) scheduled for Friday afternoon has been cancelled due to forecasted low temperatures.  The Pioneers have now have had their first two meets of the season cancelled.

ASC will host two half-day workshops on Preparing the Ground for Local Fair Trade Monday, March 29, 2010, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Lounge on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College Drama Club will present Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew,” Thursday through Saturday, April 15-17, 2010, in the Orvis Auditorium on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.  Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $2.

Students enrolled in the Automotive Trades curriculums at ��Ӱֱ�� State College will celebrate National Car Care Month in April by hosting their annual Car Care Awareness Day on Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the automotive trades lab on the School of Applied Technology Campus, Wellsville, with a variety of FREE services. Signs will be posted to direct participants.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team was unable to overcome 14 penalties and fell to Delaware Tech -Terry Campus 18-16 on Sunday afternoon.  ASC is now 1-2 on the young campaign.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball concluded their 2010 spring trip to Cocoa, FL with a doubleheader split.  ASC fell 10-9 in nine innings to North Iowa Area CC but rebounded with a come from behind 11-7 victory over Dakota College @ Bottineau.  The Pioneers end their trip with a 6-5 mark.

Tyler Ward (Bishop Kearney) allowed just two hits in a complete game shutout as ��Ӱֱ�� State downed Iowa Lakes CC 2-0 in Cocoa, FL.  Ward improves to 2-0 on the season while the Pioneers are now 5-4 on their spring trip.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team fell behind 6-2 in the 1st quarter and never could recover and fell 15-8 to Harford (MD) CC. ASC is now 1-1 on the season.

Herkimer CCC erased a 4-2 deficit with a six-run 4th inning en route to a 10-5 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State on Friday.  The Lady Pioneers finish their spring trip in Myrtle Beach, SC with a 2-6 record (1-2 Region III Division III).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team downed Dakota College @ Bottineau 10-5 but fell 7-1 to Riverland (MN) CC as they continue their annual trip to Cocoa Expo.  The Pioneers are now 4-4 on the season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Craig R. Clark recently presented on energy efficiency development and job creation at the annual Development District Association of Appalachia Annual Conference in Washington, DC.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team got back on the winning side with a 4-0 victory over Massasoit (MA) CC on Thursday.  The Lady Pioneers are now 2-5 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball left the tying run on base in the 7th inning in a 5-3 loss to Cumberland (NJ) County College and then were shutout 8-0 by Northampton (PA) CC in their second game.  The Lady Pioneers are now 1-5 at Snowbird Softball in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team had leads in both games of a doubleheader heading into the 5th inning but saw their opponents rally for victories. ASC, 3-3 on the young season, fell 10-3 to Massasoit (MA) CC and 10-4 to North Iowa Area CC in Cocoa, FL.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team fell in both halves of their doubleheader in Myrtle Beach, SC on Tuesday.  The Lady Pioneers fell 13-0 to Mercer (NJ) County CC and 6-4 to Sussex (NJ) County CC.  ASC is now 1-3 on the year.

Tyler Ward (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) earned his first collegiate victory as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team defeated Milwaukee (WI) Area Tech 6-1 in Cocoa, FL.  The Pioneers improve to 3-1 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team fell 6-1 to ASA Institute (Brooklyn, NY) late Sunday evening in Cocoa, FL.  The loss drops the blue & gold to 2-1 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team defeated Genesee CC 10-2 and fell 11-1 to Herkimer CCC as they opened up their 2010 season in Myrtle Beach, SC.

After having the first two days of their spring trip washed out the ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team opened up their 2010 season with two victories.  ASC downed Montgomery (MD) Rockville) 14-5 on Saturday evening and then downed Massasoit (MA) CC 4-3 on Sunday.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team will have to wait another day for their 2010 season opener as games on Thursday evening and Friday have been rained out.  The Pioneers will look to get on the field on Saturday to open up their spring campaign.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team started the Mark Kanellis era with a convincing 14-4 victory over Cayuga CC in Syracuse on Thursday evening.  ASC jumped out to a 8-1 lead in the first half to cruise to the victory in Kanellis' first game as head coach.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College outdoor track & field season opener at Howard (MD) CC has been cancelled.  The Pioneers will now open the 2010 outdoor season on Friday March 26 when they travel to Erie CC to take on the Kats and Finger Lakes CC.
