Niagara CCC scored three runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to regain their lead en route to a 7-5 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State on Tuesday.  The second game of the doubleheader was suspended in the second inning with ASC leading 2-1.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team found the back of the net ten times in a 32-10 loss to #1 ranked Onondaga CC.  The ten goals scored against OCC (12-0) ties the most allowed by the Lazers in a game this season.

Megan Votava (��Ӱֱ�� Almond) finished 3rd at the Region III Heptathlon while Alex Hewlett (Wellsville) was 4th in the Region III Decathlon.  The pair along with Randy Kelly (Hudson Falls) competed at the two-day event at SUNY Delhi.

In rain, snow, sleet, and peeks of sunshine, ��Ӱֱ�� State and Finger Lakes CC split a Region III Division III doubleheader.  The Lakers used big innings to earn a 12-2 victory in game one while the Pioneers used a 5-run 3rd inning in game two en route to a 7-2 victory.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College track & field team competed in adverse conditions at the SUNY Brockport Invitational.  Abbey Benton (Frewsburg) led the way by qualifying for the NJCAA Division III National Championships in the 10,000 m with a run of 43:40.91.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team battled tough but fell two goals short in a 16-14 loss at Niagara CCC.  The Pioneers led 6-4 after the first quarter but were outscored 10-4 in the middle quarters and couldn't recover.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College lacrosse team led 3-2 after one quarter and 6-5 at halftime but Finger Lakes CC outscored the Pioneers 10-2 in the second half for the 15-8 victory.  FLCC improves to 6-6 while ASC falls to 0-9.

As part of National Car Care Month, students performed free checks of automobiles’ lights, fluids, tires, battery, belts and pulleys, and an under-hood inspection.

 ��Ӱֱ�� State College student academic achievement was celebrated recently during the 27^th annual Honors Convocation.ASC President Dr. John M. Anderson welcomed the gathered students, families, faculty, and friends and congratulated them on their achievements. Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Stephen Havlovic presided.

Smiles were the order of the day recently as ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s Commuter Council members and other commuter students attended the ribbon cutting at their newly remodeled lounge.

��Ӱֱ�� State and Erie CC split a Region III Division III doubleheader at Bolivar Richburg High School on Thursday.  ECC won the opener 4-1 while ASC won the nightcap 5-4.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team split a pair with Genesee CC winning the opener 8-7 before falling 5-1 in the nightcap.  The Lady Pioneers are now 7-11 overall on the season and 4-6 in Region III Division III play.

Thursday afternoon's baseball doubleheader between ��Ӱֱ�� State and Erie CC has been moved to Bolivar Richburg High School.  First pitch of the doubleheader will be at 2 p.m.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore baseball player JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) has been named the co-Region III male athlete of the week.  Frey shares the honor with Genesee CC lacrosse player Gaehnew Printup.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's outdoor track & field team remained ranked #2 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The men's team slipped down one spot to #4.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team split a pair of WNYAC contests on Tuesday at Niagara CCC.  The Thunder Wolves rallied for a 7-5 victory in game one while ASC used a eight-run 5th inning en route to a 11-2 victory in game two.

#7 Monroe CC defeated ��Ӱֱ�� State 21-6 in a WNYAC match-up in Rochester on Tuesday afternoon.  The win is the Tribunes 6th straight and improves them to 7-4 while the Pioneers fall to 0-8.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team couldn't string together much offense as they fell 5-1 and 10-2 at Erie CC on Tuesday.

��Ӱֱ�� State College’s School of Applied Technology, Wellsville, hosted the 13^th annual New York State Postsecondary (college level) SkillsUSA competition in March.

For the second day in a row, ��Ӱֱ�� State and Jamestown CC split a Region III Division III twinbill at Bolivar Richburg High School.  The Pioneers won the opener 14-12 but JCC rallied for a 5-3 victory in game two.

The #5 ranked Herkimer CCC softball team swept a pair of Region III Division III contests as ��Ӱֱ�� State opened up the home portion of their schedule.  The Generals earned 1-0 and 6-1 victories.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's track and field team finished 7th out of 15 teams at the University of Rochester Invitational while the men were 9th.  The Pioneers were able to register 10 more NJCAA National Championship performances.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College baseball team split a Region III Division III doubleheader versus Jamestown CC on Saturday dropping the opener 7-1 and winning the nightcap 5-1.

Mercyhurst North East outshot ��Ӱֱ�� State 63-12 in a 30-7 victory on Saturday afternoon.   The Saints outscored ASC 11-1 in the 2^nd and 10-1 in the 3^rd.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College softball team swept past Elmira JV, 10-2 and 11-2, in a Friday evening doubleheader.  The Lady Pioneers, 4-0 up North, improve to 5-7 overall on the season.

Beginning Wednesday, May 4, athletes representing 25 NJCAA institutions will travel to ��Ӱֱ�� State College to participate in the 2011 Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The event will feature nearly 250 participants vying for both individual and team honors.
