Students from ��Ӱֱ�� State College, ��Ӱֱ�� University, and Houghton College will volunteer during a month-long service celebration, as both individual students and student organization groups continue to serve community organizations and support Allegany County communities. 

��Ӱֱ�� State College recently hosted 280 Future Farmers of America students from 15 western New York high schools for the 33rd annual Agriculture Skills Contest.

After just one year, ��Ӱֱ�� State College’s programs at the Northland Workforce Training Center in Buffalo are rapidly gaining momentum and even attention from Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul as word continues to spread about the excellent hands-on education students are receiving there.

The Center for Community Education and Training (CCET) at ��Ӱֱ�� State College is introducing a new program designed to help people launch a career as an efficient and successful administrative assistant.

Hundreds of local elementary students had a great time learning about agriculture and animals recently as ��Ӱֱ�� State College once again hosted Kiddie Ag Day.

Dickinson’s talk will take place at 5 p.m. in room 215 in the Engineering Technology Building on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.

The annual spirit rally and bonfire will be Oct. 11 from 6-8:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Pioneer Stadium. Students and their families are encouraged to come show their ��Ӱֱ�� State spirit and cheer on a student team during the friendly Pioneer Challenge competitions such as the Not-So-Naked-Half-Mile and dodgeball.

The cost of the dinner is $17 per adult and $10 for children 10 and under.

��Ӱֱ�� State College recently welcomed 39 new faculty and staff members.

��Ӱֱ�� State Associate Professor of Digital Media and Animation Jeremy Speed Schwartz recently received a pair of awards for his short film titled, “The Land of the 3-Drink Minimum.”

This is the 13th straight year ASC is highly ranked by the publication. The US News definition of a regional college is one that focuses on undergraduate education with less than 50 percent of the degrees in liberal arts disciplines. This makes for a more career-ready graduate.

ASC scored well in multiple rankings when compared to all New York public colleges. Niche combines student reviews with rigorous data analysis to allow prospective students and their parents to have a better understanding of what it’s like to attend a particular school.

As a LEAD Advisory Institution, ��Ӱֱ�� State’s responsibilities include mentoring other LEAD Institutions and helping NASPA staff create and execute strategy, publications, and online learning content for the initiative moving forward.

More than 500 students attended the annual end-of-summer block party this year.
