Soccer player Kali Muhleisen (÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Almond) and Jedadiah Platt (Appleton/Barker) have been named the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State athletes of the week by the Sports Information department.

Both the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State cross country teams are ranked in the second NJCAA DIII poll. The women remained 5th for the second straight week while the men are ranked 8th.

Most football players dream of one day playing on the biggest stage but few have the chance. Former ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State and Temple University wide receiver Rod Streater achieved his dream and made his NFL debut as a starting wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders as they took on the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State baseball team was swept by Erie CC, 15-1 & 9-5, in a WNYAC doubleheader on Sunday. The Pioneers were playing for the first time in eleven days.

For the fifth straight season the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State football team opened up their season with a victory. The Pioneers got contributions from all sides of the ball in their 27-3 victory over Hartwick JV on Sunday afternoon.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State volleyball team swept all four matches of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Pod on Saturday. With the sweep the Lady Pioneers are 8-2 on the year and 4-0 in Region III Division III play.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State men's soccer team earned their first shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory over Jefferson CC. The Pioneers are now 2-2-1 on the year (2-2 Region III Division III).

Kali Mulheisen (÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Almond) recorded her first collegiate hat trick as the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State women's soccer team defeated Jefferson CC 4-1 in the 2012 home opener. The Lady Pioneers are now 2-1 on the season.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State cross country swept both the men's and women's races at the annual ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Invitational in a steady rain. Both team's scored a perfect 15.

Today's WNYAC baseball doubleheader vs. Niagara CCC has been washed out. The two teams will make up the game next Sunday (9/16). A time for that make-up DH has yet to be determined.
