÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State Announces Football Schedule

The 2012 ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State football team will play six of their ten games in the friendly confines of Pioneer Stadium. The defending Region III champions will look to build on the momentum of a 6-4 record in 2011.

Hart Named All-Region and All-WNYAC, Lowry and Stowell Named All-WNYAC

The postseason awards for the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State lacrosse team have come in and Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT) was named 2nd team All-Region and 1st team All-WNYAC. Attackmen Chance Lowry (Waterloo) and goalie Brad Stowell (Marcellus) were both named 2nd team All-WNYAC.

Streater Looking to Make Raider Roster

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State alum Rod Streater is making an impression as he battles for a spot on the Oakland Raiders roster. Streater went undrafted in the NFL draft but quickly signed with the Raiders following the conclusion of the draft.

Witchella and Phelan Named Fr. Athletes of the Year

Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State women's basketball team and Keegan Phelan (East Aurora) who played on both the football and lacrosse teams were honored as the athletic department's Freshman Athletes of the Year.

Freligh, Chambers, and Johnson Named Sportsmanship Award Winners

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State softball player Shelby Freligh (Auburn/Union Springs), women's basketball player Carriola Chambers (Manhattan/Facing History), and football player Colter Johnson (Warren, PA) were named the recipients of the Daniel J. Neverett Sportsmanship at the athletic department's annual award ceremony.

Academic and Leadership Awards Announced

Volleyball player Amanda Bush (Altoona, PA) was awarded both the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State Athletic Department female academic and leadership awards while Thomas Anderson (Sodus) was named the male academic award winner and Rory Spain (Tully) was the recipient of the male leadership award.

Dorsey and Simmons Named Senior Athletes of the Year

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State track & field athlete Briana Dorsey (Rochester/School of the Arts) and football player Devin Simmons (Elmira Free) have been named the athletic department senior athletes of the year.

Moore Inducted into Hall of Fame

Longtime cross country and track & field coach Gary Moore was inducted into the NJCAA Division III Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame this past weekend. Moore was inducted in a ceremony during the 2012 Outdoor Track & Field Championships that were held at Pioneer Stadium.

Pioneer Men 3rd, Women 4th at Track Nationals

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State had a strong showing at the 2012 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend. The men's team finished 3rd out of 20 teams that competed while the women were 4th out of 21 teams. Pioneer athletes won five events and earned All-American status in eight total events.

Mohawk Valley and Harper Win National Titles

The Mohawk Valley CC women's team and the Harper College men's team clinched NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship titles on Saturday during day three of competition at Pioneer Stadium on the campus of ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State. MVCC ran away with the title while Harper edged up SUNY Delhi by five points.
