÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State baseball team struggled to get the offense going and fell to Keystone (PA) College JV in their 2012 spring season opener.  The Giants won the opener 11-0 and the nightcap 8-3.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State sophomore Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) earned a 5th place finish at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships at Eastern Illinois.  Travis Nagle (Randolph) finished 9th in the two-day heptathlon competition.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State women's basketball team could never get the offense going and fell 58-49 to Jamestown CC in the Region III Division II semifinals.  The 49 points tied the team's season low.

Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) and Travis Nagle (Randolph) began competition at the 2012 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Eastern Illinois University on Friday.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State men's basketball team participated in the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ Almond Central School Move and Groove Night on Thursday evening. The Pioneers ran 70 students through a variety of basketball drills.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State freshmen forward Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) has earned another honor after a solid week for the Lady Pioneers. Withcella was named the NJCAA DII women's basketball player of the week.

Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) and Josh Simmons (Campbell Savona) earned All-Northeast District, All-Region, and All-WNYAC honors after qualifying for the NJCAA National Championships.

Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) and Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) have been named the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State athletes of the week by the SID office.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State freshman basketball player Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) has been named the Region III female athlete of the week. Witchella had a big week as the Lady Pioneers increased there winning streak to eight games.

As expected, the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State women's basketball team will be the #2 seed in the Region III Division II in this week's tournament. The Lady Pioneers ended the regular season with a 18-8 overall mark and a 7-3 record in RIII DII.
