Huge 2nd Half Lifts Lakers

Lakeland CC used a monster 2nd half to ease past ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State 94-71 on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers used a 45 to 17 run and tallied 62 points in the 2nd to improve to 19-7 on the year.

Lady Pioneers Keep Rolling

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State women's basketball team used a 27-0 run to run past Lakeland (OH) CC in their final non-conference contest of the season. The Lady Pioneers have now won six straight games and are 16-8 on the year.

Swimming Districts: Day One Wrap

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State swimming team had three top six finishes during day one at the Northeast Districts/Region III Championships.

Pioneers Track Finishes 3rd at Regionals

Both the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State men's and women's indoor track & field team finished 3rd at the Region III Championships held in conjunction with the RIT Orange & Brown Invitational. The women scored 96 points while the men scored 86.

Pioneers Win at the Buzzer

Pat Parker (Queens/Hillcrest) hit a three-pointer as time expired to lift the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State men's basketball team to a 58-56 victory over Monroe CC. The victory snaps a Pioneers five game losing skid and improves the team to 7-18 (2-10 WNYAC).

Lady Pioneers win 5th Straight

After a slow start, the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State women's basketball team raced past Roberts Wesleyan JV 70-45 in a non-conference tilt. The Raiders jumped out to a 12-7 lead but the Pioneers answered with a 32 to 8 run to close out the half.

Hall and Nagle Named Athletes of the Week

Alex Hall (Jamaica/Forest Hill) and Travis Nagle (Randolph) have been named the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State athletes of the week by the SID office.

Sweet Win for Lady Pioneers

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State women's basketball team saw a double-digit 2nd half lead disappear but was able to score the games final five points to earn a 73-69 victory over Mercyhurst North East in a key Region III Division II contest. The sweet Valentine's Day victory improves the Lady Pioneers to 14-8 overall and 5-3 in RIII DII while MNE is 13-5 overall and 6-1 in RIII DII play.

Rally Falls Short

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State men's basketball team trailed by as many as 22 points but was able to rally and cut the lead to four but Mercyhurst North East ended the game on a 10-1 to earn a 70-57 victory in a WNYAC contest on Tuesday. MNE improves to 13-11 (5-6 WNYAC) while the Pioneers are 6-18 (1-10 WNYAC).

Peet and Simons Qualify for Wrestling Nationals

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State wrestlers Tyler Peet (Unadilla Valley) and Josh Simons (Campbell Savona) qualified for the NJCAA National Championships with 2nd place finishes at the Northeast Districts/Region III Championships. As a team, the Pioneers finished 5th in the competition with 67 points.
