Local schools compete in Science and Technology Fair at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College

Participating districts included Addison, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥-Almond, Archbishop Walsh STCS, Bolivar-Richburg, Cassadaga Valley, Friendship, Hinsdale, Hornell, Houghton Academy, Lima Christian School, Portville, Prattsburgh, and St. Ann’s Academy.

A total of 54 students from three schools competed against each other in one of the nation’s most prestigious showcases of career and technical aptitude. Schools competing this year included State University of New York (SUNY) College of Technology at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥, SUNY Delhi, and the Culinary Institute of America.

STEM Education Summer Institute set for July 28-30 at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State

Taking place July 28-30, the institute is hosted by the New York State STEM Education Collaborative and provides a way for kindergarten-through-college-level educators to learn new techniques for engaging students of all ages in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers.

High schoolers compete in 30th annual SkillsUSA Regional Conference at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State

Skills tests ranged from criminal justice to TV/video production to public speaking. ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State faculty, staff, and students were heavily involved in the design, implementation, and judging of many of the contests. Many of the high school students were exposed to a college campus for the first time.
