÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥

For a college that usually has more than 4,000 students, faculty, and staff, the current campus population of under 100 people shows how efforts to reduce population density have worked at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College (ASC). 

Hunter DeJonge, an ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State construction management student from Clifton Springs, was recently named the recipient of the Reilly Family Memorial Scholarship by the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA).

While people may be staying home due to the coronavirus, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College (ASC) was still able to connect its students with employers recently by holding virtual career fairs.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State Pioneers are known for helping one another and overcoming great obstacles. 

That’s why during this time of crisis, the college has established the Support Our Students (SOS) Emergency Fund to assist ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State students who have serious financial needs due to COVID-19.
 

During these stressful times, communication and transparency of information are critical. The Village of ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥, Volunteer Fire and EMS, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ University, and ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College are all committed to working together and making relevant health information available to the public.

Volunteers from ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College made a positive impact on a family in need in early March through a civic engagement trip to Myrtle Beach, SC.

Through this affiliation, students enrolling or currently enrolled in ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State’s four-year health sciences program can become simultaneously enrolled at LECOM as participants in an early acceptance program (EAP). As part of the EAP, LECOM will interview students prior to their enrollment at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State or within the first two years of study at ASC.

Danielle White, executive director of Institutional Advancement at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State, said, “During difficult times, it is always wonderful to hear about our alumni doing incredible acts of kindness."

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College (ASC) announced that it is postponing commencement ceremonies due to the COVID-19 outbreak. No date is set for when commencement will be rescheduled.

Effective March 19, Sammons assumed the role of interim director of Alumni Relations. Brintle will begin serving as the new associate director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations beginning March 23.
