Tracksters Place at Empire State Games

Two ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College track & field athletes placed at the 2010 Empire State Games in Buffalo.  Pioneer alum Andy Omoregie (Gates Chili) won a gold medal while incoming freshman Byron Jones (Niagara Falls) won a silver.

Football Scrimmage Moved to 10 a.m.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College football scrimmage scheduled for Saturday (8/28) vs. ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ University JV has been moved to 10 a.m.  The game will be played on the new turf at Merrill Stadium.

Nine Tracksters with ASC Ties Heading to Empire State Games

Nine athletes with ties to the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College track and field teams will compete this week at the Empire State Games.  The 2010 Summer Games will be held in Buffalo with most of the track events taking place at the University of Buffalo.

White Signs with Youngstown State

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College football player Pat White (Warren, OH) has signed his national letter of intent to continue his career at Youngstown State.  White joins the Penguins and will compete in the Gateway Football Conference, a NCAA Division I football bowl subdivision program.

Crooker and Yamamoto Win WNYAC Awards

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State's Carey Crooker (Addison) and Masanari Yamamoto (Tokyo, Japan) were honored by the Western New York Athletic Conference at the annual athletic director's meeting.  Crooker was named the co-freshman athlete of the year while Yamamoto was named the academic male athlete of the year.

Four Pioneers Named All-WNYAC Lacrosse

Four members of the 2010 ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College lacrosse team have earned All-WNYAC honors.  Ryan Speciale (Corning West) and Chase Bailey (Corning West) were named to the 1st team while James Moss (Hilton) and Nick Young (West Seneca West) were 2nd team selections.

Depew and Nankivell Named All-WNYAC

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State freshmen softball Angie Depew (Wellsville) and Charise Nankivell (Hornell) have been named All-Western New York Athletic Conference.  Depew was a first team selection while Nankivell was second team.
