Seventeen engineering students attending New York State colleges and universities will receive $45,000 collectively in scholarship money from member firms of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York (ACEC New York). The awards are based on the students’ cumulative grade-point average, college activities, work experience and an essay on consulting engineering.

Just as most college students are planning for some fun in the summer sun, 23 ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College students are heading for the tropics of Haiti to lend a hand (or 46) in the rebuilding of that island nation, more than a year after the devastating January 2010 earthquake.

Nearly 600 two- and four-year graduates, their families, professors, and friends were on hand Sunday, May 15, as ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College honored its 100^th graduating class. Presiding over the ceremony, which was held at McLane Center on neighboring ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ University’s campus, was Dr. John M. Anderson, college president.

One of the fixtures of the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College athletic department for the past 30 years has been Kathy Feldman.  This winter, Feldman announced her retirement and served her last day at the college on May 13.

Jennifer Forsberg, Jamestown, a technology management major at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College, has been named the 2010-11 ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College Student Employee of the Year. Forsberg works in the Annual Giving Office and was nominated by her supervisor Danielle White, director of Annual Giving.
