A-State Can't Overcome Early Deficit

Zweygardt Sculpture on Wellsville Campus

Visitors, faculty, staff, and students at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's School of Applied Technology are greeted each day by a sculpture by Glenn Zweygardt, professor of sculpture emeritus, NYS College of Ceramics School of Art and Design.  The large-scale, mixed media piece is on loan from the artist as part of a beautification initiative at the Wellsville campus. The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's soccer team won their third straight Region III Division III contest with a 2-0 victory over Corning CC on Thursday afternoon.  With the win the Pioneers are now 3-5-1 overall and 3-4-1 in Region III Division III play. Read Article

Spikers down Niagara

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College volleyball team took care of business in their home opener.  The Lady Pioneers downed Niagara CCC 30-8, 30-18, and 30-19.  A-State improves to 9-2 on the year while NCCC falls to 1-2. Read Article

Dean Brown scored on a header with 3:56 remaining in the first overtime to lift Mercyhurst North East to a 3-2 victory over ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State on Tuesday afternoon.  With the win the Saints improve to 5-2 while the Pioneers fall to 2-5-1. Read Article

Ashleigh Houtaling (Northern Potter, PA) and Brittany Hannah (Eastridge) each scored two goals and passed out an assist as the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's soccer snapped a three-game slide with a 6-0 victory over Mercyhurst North East.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 2-3-1 on the year. The men's cross country team at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College has moved up in the latest NJCAA Division III polls while the women remained the same.  The men are ranked #5 while the women are ranked #6. Read Article

Second Annual Taste of Wellsville

Local eateries will once again participate in ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College's "Taste of Wellsville," this year, Saturday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. -2 p.m., as part of the College's Centennial Celebration.  Restaurants and other food purveyors will showcase their tasty signature dishes in "miniature form" at stations around the Applied Technology Campus.
